See here’s the crazy thing, we shut down and hurt the economy. Had we just done it for another week and then required face masks and social distancing. If that we would be over this with a flattened curve and watching things reopen not close back down.

Wrong assumption.

"Requiring" face masks and social distancing would not have equaled wearing face masks or practicing social distancing for far too many Americans who think they know more than infectious disease specialists. Cause many people are dumbasses.

By requiring I mean actually punishing non compliance.

In Germany you would get a several hundred euro fine for not wearing a mask

Yeah, right. German culture is VERY different than American culture. If government tried a few hundred dollar fine for not wearing a mask there would be complete bedlam-anarchy-trainwreck-craziness.

Why is it so hard to recognize the difference between the words “reduce” and “eliminate”?

Because what are we trying to do -- reduce or eliminate?  There is no balance to the restrictions they are putting on citizens.

Why is it so hard to recognize that if you want to enforce mandates with arrests and fines that the state/county/city legislators should actually do their jobs and pass a law?

Yeah, like my neighbor wearing a mask while mowing his lawn.

So get the state legislatures together and pass a law.  That's their job.

MANY other factors at play here you don’t want to consider. Politics being one of the largest.

I’m literally saying if we had just done what all the successful countries had done we would be in better shape. That’s hardly political.

The other countries don’t have the political contortion we are dealing with.  You believe everything you read and hear.  I don’t operate that way.  That’s why we will never agree. And that’s ok.  That used to be why America was SO good. We are losing the ability to have differing opinions everyday.

They did already they are called emergency powers that governors and Mayors already have. They don’t need a new law there is already a law.

Which was done specifically because the legislative process is too slow to react to emergencies.

I honestly can’t tell if you are trolling or just this partisan.

It’s kind of funny even after most Republican leaders are saying to wear masks and people still are still trying to hold to the masks are bad narrative

Idiots of Facebook I don’t believe. You are giving actual credence to non doctors on medical advice. All opinions are not equal. I’m literally listening to doctors.  You are listening insane ramblings of a failed businessman, failed reality star, failed husband, failed father and failed president. You are literally adding the political distortion. I and the other mask wearers are listening to doctors not Democrat’s.  And the sad thing is the republicans have even changed their tune on mask and you still think it’s a political statement.

You don’t have the right to tell me where I get my information, nor do I for you.  I educate myself constantly. I talk to doctors in real life. I am not a social media troll, or a Qanon.  I have reasons not to trust the media. It’s sad but it’s true.  I don’t trust politics in large part, in general.  I don’t trust many of those with tremendous power and money.   Going to the beach now, will talk later.

I also talk to doctors in real life. I would be curious what doctors you talk to that you are getting your information from because it is completely contradictory to those I talk to.

Yeah right, only someone who actually IS 'Q' (!) him very self would say they were not 'Q'.

My wife works at a med school.  She literally knows hundreds of medical doctors.  Not a single one is against wearing masks or thinks they are unhelpful in this situation.

Because they know and Fauci knows it’s not the cure all that the media portrays it to be.  Not even close.

I would say this is calling them into question Stu. Plus previous posts on the topic
