I just read that Delaware opened their casinos up to sports betting this week (I live 15-20 mins from Delaware Park and Casino).  I had no idea it was going to happen this quickly.  We already had the NFL Parlay (basically a scan-tron sheet similar to Powerball...and offered at multiple convenience stores, cigarette shops, etc).  This opens up a whole new avenue of entertainment.

I wonder how hard Vegas will take a hit with this new law.

@Naturalhoosier Yo! So this thread obviously never took off and here we are- years later. Did you ever get into this very heavy with the legalization around our area and I think Indiana, as well.

Nothing to write home about. A little here/there. Mainly I’m too lazy to run over to the casino so I’ll just save my money. lol

Have you?

Ohhhhhh....didn't know this thread existed! I was curious how much traction a gambling thread would get. I'm a pretty lame gambler, pretty much stick to $5 bets per game, maybe a $10 parlay here and there, but it makes it fun and I haven't yet gone into the red. I'd be down to keep this thread lively during the tournament, at least.

My favorite follows: BetsbyBob on twitter and pickswise.com

App preference: FanDuel, but DraftKings is growing on me b/c their live feed is way more accurate and I really like betting live over/unders with somewhere around 5-7 minutes left in a game.

i'm a lame gambler myself. But i like to throw money into local betting pools (no one does a damned bracket!!) mainly baseball, NBA, Hockey and the Nenana Ice Classic (google it). I actually won the Ice Classic Last year and my buddy just messaged me to make sure i'm in this years. In Alaska, we are not allowed to do the apps which i guess is good because i would be throwing money at the +5000 for Brad Stevens right now.

Learned how to bet it when it was about the only sport happening during COVID...I've been down south for the last couple months so these are from before I left

I had been thinking about starting a similar thread for months but wasn't sure it would get any response....

I use FanDuel & my wife uses Draft kings... both are great apps and neither of us have had any issues with privacy, information sharing, or anything like that.

She really loves betting Over/Unders and I like to do small 5 game parlays... and of course 90% of the time betting the UNDER on a BIG TEN basketball game is a winner (unless Michigan, Illinois, OSU, or Iowa play each other)…. NFL is my favorite to bet on, but I am ready for some action these next few weeks with the tourney going on.

On the App I don't think you can get the random bets like +5000 on Stevens being the next IU coach.

Who do we like today?

Personally:

Georgetown ML (dog)

LSU -2

Texas -8.5

Kansas -10

I think Drake could hang with USC as a potential upset, but not confident enough to risk.

Also, early line for Illinois vs Loyola Chicago tomorrow is Illinois -6.5 and I would expect that to move so I may jump on it early.

I agree here but Kansas scares me being the first game back from COVID. I’m taking USC and good call on that early Illinois line. I’m also taking:

Maryland +3.5

Missouri ML

Intrigued by:

UNC-G +10.5 and the under against FSU

Ahh, good catch on COVID Kansas; I forgot about that.
I also considered the Maryland line. I don’t know enough about UNC-G to make an informed risk and after yesterday I’m wary of lines over -10 lol.

Covid or no Covid, I wouldn’t trust Kansas to cover 10.5. I’m totally convinced McCormick is shaving points. Cost me 3 or 4 times this year with him doing shady **** down the stretch of games that were tight on the spread.

That said, lol, so far I got

UCSB +7.5
Texas Southern +25.5

Dayton +5.5 in the NIT. Dayton has covered for me about 80% this year.
