Kip Fougerousse  --  With much thought, I have entered the transfer portal w/ 2 years of eligibility. Thankful for my time at Indiana University, &  grateful for my teammates, my brothers for life. Looking forward to a new opportunity.

Not surprised.

He fell off a cliff this year and Tibbitts is the future at first base and a star in the making. Players like him are the reason the portal was invented. He definitely has potential but never lived up to it and I wish him well wherever he goes and that his talent is unlocked.

Jake Skrine  -  After completing my degree in exercise science at IU I have entered my name into the transfer portal to use my last year of eligibility as a grad transfer. I’m excited to explore the new opportunities ahead 6’2 220 pound Utility infield/ Catcher

Again. Little used player the portal is made for.

I am watching if any of our young core freshmen or good players with so much promise enter as that will tell us where program is at. Losing guys at the end of your bench (Skrine) or one who falls apart despite having promise early (Fougerousse) is who the portal is custom made for and what the intentions of it are.

Jack Walker  --  I have decided to enter the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility left. I am grateful for my time at Indiana. I want to thank my coaches and teammates for creating memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

@Aaron same with Skrine and Kip here. Jack had 2 or 3 solid outings, but really struggled in the others... only pitching in Mid weeks and blow outs, as well.

Another struggling guy. Three players I had very little hope for to do much in the program. Wish them all well.

I'm hoping Ethan Vercrumba announces for the portal soon. But knowing him and his family they probably won't.

He has really struggled in college. I also believe he was hurt this past year, early. OF is loaded, currently.

Yes he has struggled and been hurt. Probably should have taken that 700K out of high school to go pro.

Their best player, Landon Sims, was hurt all year... I think they had another top arm go down.

I think Sims will be a first round pick.

And then, yeah, played poorly.. and they play in the sec. They didnt even make it to Hoover. We were in Starkville last weekend and then they were all still drunk, celebrating the natty from last year. (Emoji)

Tennessee, LSU, Arkansas, Tex AM, UF, UGA, Ole Miss and Auburn were 8 of their 10 SEC series. BRUTAL.

Other two weekends being Missouri and Alabama... who are both very solid.

I will say, their field, Dudy Noble.... one of the coolest sporting events I've been to. Look it up if you aren't familar!

Tailgating, good food, beer, and baseball. Hard to beat!

When I said their schedule was loaded.... they'll have played 5 weekend series against teams that made Supers.

Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, TexAM. And Florida+LSU came within a run.

Nine years ago today, we made our CWS debut -- beating Louisville on a Joey DeNato four-hit shutout. Unfortunately, that was our last win -- losses to Mississippi State and Oregon State followed.

I really, really thought that was the start of something big for IU baseball. I certainly didn't think we'd go to the CWS every year, but  I thought at the minimum, we'd make the NCAAs most years  -- and be a threat to reach the CWS every now and then. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. We did have a great season the next year, earning a No. 4 NCAA seed, but didn't make it out of our regional.

As they say -- if ifs and nuts were candies and nuts, what a Merry Christmas we'd all have. But I can't help but wonder if that truly was meant to be our one shining moment, or if things would've been different had Tracy Smith not left for Arizona State.

It didn't work out for him and despite a couple decent seasons under Lemonis, it really hasn't worked out for us.

Anyone else somewhat surprised that there haven't been any staff changes announced?  In particular with our pitching coach.
Maybe the contracts outside of Mercer all expire on July 1 and whoever they retain or let go will happen around that date.
