Stuhoo Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Big Pritch is the JV coach at Guerin Catholic in Noblesville currently. Guerin is a big-time program, but that would be a big jump. Assuming Archie knows Pritch via Ohio connections? ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

Nothing personal against Pritch, but yeah, that's a really big jump and not quite the caliber of hire I envisioned CAM would go after. IUsafety, Hoosier in NC, Jeff_Boy_Ardee and 2 others 5 Quote
ElectricBoogaloo Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 That would be a huge jump. Maybe it will be something like the Elston role. I would hope not one of the lead assistants. Quote

Agreed...and I find it kinda hard to believe that he would be offered a full-fledged assistant job. I'm betting it might be something within the program, but not a full assistant job. Popular Post Baltimore Hoosier Posted March 29, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 29, 2017 I'm excited to see what Miller does with his staff. He did mention in his interview with Dakich that he was open to the idea of inculding Indiana guys, but I don't know if Pritchard is the guy.. I wonder if a guy like AJ Guyton would be interested? Loved that him back in the day. He's an assistant in the D-League and has connections in Illinois and very highly regarded in Indiana. ALASKA HOOSIER, Bobman1, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and 7 others 10 Quote

With all of Archie's talk of reaching out to Indiana high school coaches and developing those relationships, might it be that he wants someone with familiarity of the IU program, a name everyone knows within the state to help with leading the charge? Possibly reaching here but ... Quote

Idk what else he does career wise but if he wants a coaching career I don't think it would take much to bring him here. Let him get his feet wet in the college ranks without putting him in charge of much. It seems like a pretty low risk to me. Quote

Why Pritchard out of all the IU guys who are out there coaching in some capacity? Would much rather have a guy like Guyton back around the program. I think he could teach guys alot more. He actually has legitimate coaching and playing experience. ElectricBoogaloo and Jeff_Boy_Ardee 2 Quote

It would also highly suggest to me that we were looking at multiple transfers out if a change hadn't been made. Brass Cannon 1 Quote

Just a guess but it might be so that he can work with the forwards and his connections to Indiana high schools. I'm also guessing he would either be a director of operations or director of player development. ALASKA HOOSIER and Tom White 2 Quote

He has connections to Indiana high schools because he is at Guerin Catholic. That is a pretty good program from just outside of the Indianapolis area. If you are coaching there you know a little something about what's going on in the major high schools in that area. Not to mention that it would look good when it comes to building relationships to Indiana High School coaches if he had a former JV coach and Indiana player on staff. I don't think it's really an 'either or' type of situation. I don't see him getting Big Pritch on board and then not looking for any other Indiana guys to add to his staff. He very well could bring in someone like Guyton in addition to Pritchard. I think this would be more of him trying to fill the end of his coaching staff with a guy who played here and has a little exposure to the high school scene in Indiana. Quote

Maybe bring him in as a volunteer on the weekends? I do not want Tom Pritchard coaching up the forwards for Indiana University or being in any kind of Director role. Not sure where this rumor started but I hope it's quickly squashed. Quote
