Like I said previously I really don't care, but is it that crazy an assistant coach would come here for a year with the exposure of IU being he is an IU great that could lead to a bigger job? Or he becomes Associate Head Coach here and makes more money than he is now. I promise you the adminstration is not going to just pick a guy again. They are actually very comfortable in keeping Crean or hiring Fife for one year to get Donovan and they would be crazy not to. You would rather grab another guy knowing next year the talent isn't as good as the reason to get them instead of Billy Donovan than your opinion doesn't matter one bit too me.

Honestly I have wanted to go on all boards as a sense of hope for fans, but I figured my words wouldn't matter so I held off. I see a few really good posters on here but a lot of horrible ones as well who just hate Crean and think that he is the only problem. Why do you think IU hasn't fired him sooner? The national perception of this job is going down without Crean being the whole reason. I do know some coaches do not want Fred Glass as their AD. You could say he has the Crean effect. Also some of them love him. Billy Donovan is one of them, but Brad Stevens is not. He will not ever be coming here. Brad takes it personal he never got an offer sooner and even when he got calls none were never serious. If he comes back to college Duke is the only school he picks up for.

Yes it is crazy. Will never happen anywhere let alone here. Nobody has ever hired an outside one year rental. Recruiting would become impossible. Just a terrible idea.

Like I said I never said it was going to happen tomorrow. It has been talked about though, but only with assurances from Billy Donovan. I think they could gladly find a way to get those recruits back once Donovan walked in their living room. Like I also said they have other options not just that one. Personally I believe Archie Miller will be the Head Coach of Indiana University around Aprilish.

I haven't really seen anyone pick up on this except one person a page or two back, but Creans speech tonight seemed a little odd in person to me and I've seen a good number of his senior night speeches. He talked about options and his senior night and then "corrected himself" by saying his family's senior night. His reaction when he said that seemed odd.

On the Fife information, I know it seems out there but to me it honestly makes more sense then just keeping in touch with him for future purposes. If you are truly looking for a coach for future your hoping he's here 15-20 or more years, at that time Fife will be established and if he is good, will be at a destination job. Contacting him at this point makes no sense but would in the given scenario.

I just think a lot of you are so quick to disregard information. I understand a lot of rumors turn out to be not true but I'm not sure if I would dismiss this so vigorously. I don't know, maybe I'm just too trusting I guess.

I respect that. It is hard to believe anything anyone says anymore about our program so I get it. I was honestly just trying to give you guys some hope. From what I have been told by several, I said the same things a lot of people have already been saying. The Fife thing is the only difference, but I promise you if you talk to other people in the know they will tell you his name is being brought up, so it really isn't that crazy. If Donovan really wants to come here and wants us to wait then Crean stays more likely than Fife coming aboard which I also said, so I am confused. Sorry once again, but my intentions are good.

So you are telling me our AD, a lawyer, would entertain paying someone over a million dollars while waiting for another coach under contract to wait for his star player to become a free agent after the NBA season in 2018 ends on a handshake deal? If it's true that Stevens said no and feels like he was slighted the first time around this seems plausible to reach out to Fife like that. That's a huge "what if" and it's the first time hearing anything remotely close to what he is proposing.

Thanks for that. I appreciate that route a lot more than I am full of **** lol at least your honest. It does seem crazy but I believe it has more to do with timing than anything. The seasons ending different times is big. Donovan probably isn't coming here for a few reasons but there is a better chance than media make it out.

Thank you for that and I am glad someone has paid more attention to details than just what people post. If you are waiting on someone to flat out say what is happening on here I will tell you your waiting to the minute it is announced. If you can put all the info together and stay open minded you personally get a better idea than most of things happening. I respect every post on boards. I read everyone and dissect things that fit. As well as having a good source, but most I could figure out if I paid more attention.

I agree, but I also think if it happened as it was proposed it would work great as well. Like I said I expect Archie to be our guy mainly cause of what you just said, but the hardest part is Glass himself. Why do you all think Tom Allen is our guy now? Yeah our defense got a lot better, but it was cause he didnt want anyone mad at him over firing Wilson even when he had reason. He gave Allen the job to keep things calm. Glass will not make the move which is why things could change a lot till then but I truly believe the options I proposed and feel like they will be out there more as more time goes by.
