I know we still have the NIT and nobody is going to be making any announcements before then but what do we think our roster is going to realistically look like next year? I saw Trevor Thompson (OSU) has declared for the draft again, and I saw (according to a random person on twitter) that TB has been very vocal around campus that he will be gone after this year. Got me thinking:

Assume these are gone:

JBJ - We all are assuming he is gone based on the fact that he expected to be 1 & done

OG - Based on potential we believe he is NBA bound

Thomas Bryant - Not ready but word seems to be that he is gone. Does a new coach change this in 1 way or another?

Collin Hartman - Could redshirt and come back, but participating in SR day makes me believe he is done.

Think they will be here next year:

Rob Johnson - Could be the leader on the team next season. However recent developments indicate it could depend on if Crean is back or not?

De'Ron Davis - Best player next season? His full on support/Loyalty of Crean could play a role? Especially if Crean ends up out west

Juwan Morgan - Could be interesting if he were to follow Crean to MO... although I don't see this.

DeVonte Green - Lead Guard next season with some offseason work. Fully believe he stays as long as Crean goes.

Josh Newkirk - Can't sit out another year.... not many transfer options (unless he graduates)

Freddie McSwain - Could develop?

Zach McRoberts - Continue to play as a Walk on.

Think they will be gone:

Tim Priller - Only here if we don't need an additional scholarship.

Curtis Jones - Not a lot of playing time this year, could be good in the future if properly developed. Think he stays with new coach or transfers if Crean stays.

Grant Gelon - Realizes he will not be able to play at this level and transfers to lower division

New Recruits

Don't really know much about any of these 3 but believe all 3 will still come here regardless of who the coach is.

Al Durham - G

Justin Smith - F

Clifton Moore - F

De'ron, DG and Morgan are the three that I think we absolutely need back next year. OG, JBJ and TB will likely all be gone (TB probably won't be happy about where he ends up). There will be plenty of playing time to be earned so I don't see many transfers unless some guys just can't stand it here.

Even with the moves there is enough talent for a new coach. 2 seniors in the backcourt w 2 solid kids to develop in CuJo and DG. Morgan, DD, Moore, McSwain and possibly Hartman is a decent frontcourt. Could be a ton better with a lot of ifs. Moore being a stud and DD taking major steps could make the frontcourt a strength. If Freddy worked on hands he could make a bit of a jump and Juwan we all know what he could do with a healthy year and more confidence. The area that worries me is on the wings. We probably start Newkirk, RoJo and DG by default. Justin Smith will provide some good minutes but not sure how much. Everyone else is wildcards.

Another board said De'Ron, Green, and Gelon are all likely to transfer.  I wouldn't be surprised to see Robert Johnson graduate and head to Virginia for a year, totally speculating though.  He just looks unhappy and "over it" right now.

Who knows what will happen when the dust settles.

Did they say why they think DG is gone? If we have a new coach he's likely the starting pg averaging 30 minutes a night. I can't see him transferring to a better opportunity than that.

And sitting out a year to boot.  I think RJ is a more likely transfer, but I expect next year to see Newkirk, Green, and Johnson if they are here to be all starting in a three guard lineup beside Morgan and Davis.

Not quite; and not as bad as you think re DeGreen.

I remember that 247 post, and I think it was by Mile or someone else fairly knowledgeable. It said that DGreen came to play at IU, not for Crean, and that he's more likely to stay with a new coach.

DDavis, on the other hand, came for Crean. Would take a total recruitment of Davis by the new coach to keep him.
