Popular Post ccgeneral Posted January 21, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 21, 2017 Running back Justin Brent is transferring from Notre Dame, as first reported by Irish247. The former four-star recruit out of Indianapolis (Ind.) Speedway high school signed with the Fighting Irish as a wide receiver in the class of 2014. However, he was moved to running back after his first year in the system. Brent was rated the No. 67 overall player in the country according to 247Sports. The 6-2, 220-pounder, who received permission to contact multiple schools on Friday, will graduate this summer and take his talents elsewhere. Although he is open to many schools across the country, Brent says Indiana, UCLA, Miami, Arizona State, Purdue and Ohio State are all schools he'll look closely at. Brent enrolled early in South Bend. Upon graduation, he'll be able to play immediately and has two years of eligibility. http://notredame.247sports.com/Article/BREAKING-RB-Justin-Brent-transferring-from-Notre-Dame-50691717 LIHoosier, southsidehoosier, WayneFleekHoosier and 5 others 8 Quote

We should look at more grad kids. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Brent may have an opportunity to get on the field faster because he's physically and mentally mature, but there has to be a reason why someone as talented as he is never saw the field. Then take into consideration he recently moved to RB from WR. Do his talents really lend to being an RB? Or was he not able to crack it at WR and tried his hand elsewhere?I would rather have four years of talents like Ellison and Barrett, who are coming in as RBs, than two years of Brent. I don't think this is a Jordan Howard-type transfer. And Camion Patrick is unique in his versatility.Of course, I trust DMC and the rest of our offensive staff to make the determination. Maybe we take two RBs, one freshman and one grad transfer. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Alford Bailey Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Take him in a heartbeat. Thats a pretty tough list for us to compete against though. Quote

If we only got one though I would take him only because Ellison has seemed to lose interest after his injury. I still want him to be a Hoosier no doubt, but the talent is there for this kid. If we can take Coleman and Howard and turn them into RBs in the NFL, this kid should be able to as well. He would only start one year if any though is what makes me hesitant to take him over Ellison. Patrick is the starter this year. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
