OG out for the season

At this point, what are the chances he goes pro? And do you think he would tell us soon? Also does this make Jordan Tucker's decision of schools a more difficult choice or easier?

Its just one Mock (and not sure how credible the source is) but accourding to Draft Express.com  OG not projected to be in the draft (no 1st or 2nd round).

Bryant projected 21st

DraftExpress is widely regarded as the best service. Givony does great work. I wouldn't put a lot of stock in that specific scenario, though. It's hard for them to project an injured guy I'm sure.

If it played out like that, I would gladly tell Baltimore I was wrong on TB.  I still see OG getting drafted before TB though.  His body/athleticism just translates more.

Looks like DraftExpress moved OG to the 2018 Draft (Mock)

I personally still think he is back for next season due to the injury.  I thought he might be back next year even before the injury due to how he was playing this year (even though he was starting to come around).  But, his shooting has been atrocious this year compared to last year.  I can't imagine his draft stock was helped in anyway this season so far and he wasn't even starting prior to the injury because he wasn't playing that well.  He has the potential but needs more time and the injury re-enforces that even more in my opinion.

I think his performance up until recently was partially hurt by that groin injury Crean mentioned a few times. Groin injuries are the WORST, so I see how that could really affect his season until the knee injury came. I'm not sure that staying helps him much, because I think he translates more to the NBA with his skillset. He developed his body like crazy over the summer so idk how much more he can do here. NBA coaches could work on his shot and handle while he gets paid for it.

I agree with the exception of he was not projected to be an NBA talent prior to coming to IU (like some of the UK players that got hurt prior to draft).  I just don't know if the scouts have seen enough from him (overall body of work) to take a chance on him at this stage and if he can't participate in pre-draft workouts and such, he can't showcase what you mentioned.  He did not play a whole lot last year until the very end and started off this season not playing that well, and no one knew about the groin injury until Crean finally mentioned it so we all just left to wonder why he was playing terrible.  Again, he has the potential, but not sure he has showed enough to the scouts yet, to take a position on him.

Yeah all good points. Agree. Did he workout between the tournament and deadline for NBA teams last year? I can't remember, but I'm willing to bet that matters a little bit.

Maybe top 20 in a Big 10 draft.

Chad Ford(ESPN)- 13th player on big board after injury.

Draftexpress- 10th not updated yet though.

Bleacher Report- 18th after injury

Nbadraft.net- 2nd round but this site is horrible.

Cbssports- 12th after injury

Idk why people think taking shots at our own kids are cool. This kid got hurt so wait doesn't mean he goes from lotto to undrafted. Caris Lavert was actually projected in the 20s before the injury and nothing changed. After the lottery if OG isn't picked yet literally any team is liable to take him because of his upside. Once you pass the lottery there aren't many like that. Him and Giles are both gonna make some GM's happy.

Like many others have stated Draft Express is the best site by far. Even better than Chad Ford IMO. I don't think they take schollys in account in these though. I havent checked the updated yet but Crean probably pushes OG out the door. I would welcome him back with open arms but idk. If OG goes though he will be a 1st round pick I will bet a lot of money of that too. (Seriously though I will lol)

Giles is a risk.  OG will be fine.

He made his decision really quick last year if I remember correctly so I don't think he did any of the pre-draft stuff.  It seams like he came out a day or two after the UNC loss and stated he wasn't going anywhere.  I could be wrong so someone correct me if I am but this is how I remember it.

Crean wouldn't push OG out the door. Priller and Gelon yes. OG not a chance

He is 8th in 2018 though. As much as I believe he is gone this sheds a new wrinkle. In a weaker draft he may even be able to move up to top 5. That is hard to pass up. If he is able to do ALL pre draft stuff though I think he is completely gone. Mainly due to Crean wanting to free scholly without looking like bad guy. Plus if he does keep his job and our "big" 3 leave he will use that as an excuse all year long believe that.

1)  You missed the point completely

2) Koenig - no it wouldn't.  Hayes - yeah it would and I said so.

1.) Maybe I'm missing the gist of your statement. You used OG's injury as an example of the downside of being a "NBA factory". And I said that's not a good point because he was not a one and done prospect when he was recruited.

2.) This Wisconsin point still bothers me. Wisconsin, for all of their consistency under Bo Ryan, made two Final Fours in 14 years. For all of his in game prowess and respected coaching ability, those two Final Fours were achieved with NBA talent in Frank Kaminsky and Nigel Hayes. So what is it exactly that you want to be?

I would of used dekker as an example of NBA talent instead of Hayes since the NBA told Hayes he wasn't good enough and to go back to school and improve
