  1. Cujo can definitely light it up from beyond the arc. I think people are forgetting about him too easily. He seems to be able to score with the best of them
  2. If he continues his play in the tournament, but before the Kentucky game he struggled against any quality interior defense.  I think he is a great young player but if he leaves someone isnt giving him good info
  3. I think Cujo is going to come in and surprised a lot of people. I think he will come in better than freshman Rob. If you really think about it Cujo is playing some of the top competition in the US and seems to be averaging close to 20 ppg. He can definitely score at will. I definitely think he will help us in the scoring department, especially making up for some of what we lose in Yogi
  4. Never been more happy to wake up with the flu in the middle of the night. Now I get to stay home from work and watch the game!
  5. Yeah he has struck out plenty on the lanky, tall players but I think especially after the last few sleepers he's picked up both Grant and Crean deserve the benefit of the doubt
  6. I saw we just give Grant a shot till he actually comes here and plays. Last offseason I heard the same thing about Beilfeldt, OG, and Juwan. Two years ago it was the same news about Zeisloft. People were saying they were a waste of a scholarship and that they weren't going to help.
  7. Shooting is gold in the NBA nowadays. If he comes back and shoots well next year, he will still have a shot in the NBA
  8. I think Newkirk and Rob will pick up the slack for ball handling and Blackmon Jr will pick up the slack for scoring. Somebody compared him to a "rich-man's" Zeisloft. Thats ridiculous. Zeisloft only shoots 3s wheres Blackman Jr can drive and penetrate, has a midrange game, etc. Can he do those things like Yogi? No, but not many people can
  9. The part about his reactions to fouls made me laugh. He has matured but he still acts up a bit when he gets any call against him. He definitely wears his emotions on his sleeves.
  10. It will be a platoon of players running the point. Crean's whole offense is to have multiple players initiating offense. I think the combo of Rob, JBJ, Troy, Cujo, and Devonte Green will work out well for us. I think JBJ will bring pick up the scoring we'll miss from Yogi and Rob will be our primary ball handler. I'm quite nervous about it but I think it will work out for us. We should a have a solid front court to rely on as well.
  11. Watching Bryant play in the heart of B10 play and I just don't see him leaving. He has struggled against most talented big men. He struggled against Happ when we played Wisconsin and he is really struggling against Haas and Hammons. He struggles on both ends of the court against the quality bigs he's matched up against. Not trying to bash Bryant at all cause I love what he brings to the team when he is on, but i still think he isnt ready for the NBA yet
  12. Dakich was reminiscing about past IU/Purdue match-ups, he wasn't throwing anyone under the bus or criticizing anyone. Lay off the guy for a second
  13. Thought this was interesting since we are on the topic.. Dan Dakich ‏@dandakich  1h 1 hour ago Sure all will deny now but IU killer Brian Cardinal wanted to come to IU..Felling/Knight liked Kid named Koch better..Koch went to Iowa
  14. The worst is that they only called it a Flagrant 1 during the game even after seeing the replay.....
  15. The past two years the team success has pretty much depended on Troy. When he plays well, we win. When he doesn't, we lose. Its that simple for me. Every offseason we've heard about him improving his game in one facet or another but I have still yet to see it. His shot has a gotten a better, but he doesn't know a good shot vs a bad one. He ball handling and decision making hasn't really improved. I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave for the draft after this year. I don't think he is ready but I think he will have plenty of people telling him he will be. I'll probably get flak for this, but I would welcome the idea of him leaving for the NBA. I think OG shows a lot more potential and ability at the same position.
  16. I don't think theres any interest from IU's side because there is nothing "special" about Vijay on a basketball side. He will play in college but he isnt a high D1 recruit. He has had a less than stellar year as the focal point on the team.He scored in the high figures when JBJ was drawing multiple defenders and he was open but from all the reports of his games this year, he is underwhelming on his own.
  17. Plus Watford didn't really have a post game. I think the members of next years potential front court will rebound better than Watford too but none of them are going to shoot like him. In other words it will be a whole other kind of front court from Watford and Zeller (not saying either one is better than the other)
  18. Guyton has a great response. Dakich had the right idea behind some of his comments, but he is wrong in blaming Guyton. Blame guys like Luke Recker and Jason Collier who transferred out early and put the program behind.
  19. They are playing the top high school and prep teams in the US and Canada. Cujo is their main scorer and leader so I think his stat line is genuine
  20. That honestly just doesn't make any sense. The majority of the players Crean has ever brought in are "solid 3-4 stars" that stay all 4 years. Look at our recruiting class from last year. OG and Morgan fall into that category. Collin Hartman falls into that category. We have solid contributors on our team that fall into that category Also, You mention Iowa not having any big time recruits but half of their starting five were ESPN top 100 recruits. Woodbury was a top 50 recruit and had offers from OSU, Wisconsin, UNC, and Stanford amongst others.
  21. There were ALOT of people being against OG or at least saying they didn't think he would contribute.
  22. I dont understand why we as fans are so quick to write players off. Every year it happens and then every year there are nice surprises. I know there have been just as many players who come in and are duds but I just think back to Zeisloft, Beilfeldt, and OG. All have been recent additions that everyone was so against and thought they weren't talented enough then they have performed well here. Who knows what Gelon is going through but we need to at least give him the benefit of the doubt till we see him play here
  23. Out of ten of the most recent mock drafts I just looked up, Bryant is only mentioned in Chad Ford's top 20 prospects (is that technically even a mock draft).  Its a similar situation to Williams the lats couple of years, he isnt even listed as a first round and people are assuming he is a lottery pick already. Bryant is a talented player but hasnt shown enough consistency to be a lottery pick right now. I have no doubt he can become that though. All he has to do is look at Vonleh's situation
  24. My dad was at the Logansport McCutcheon game and he went on and on about Phinisee. Definitely the real deal with a fantastic ability to handle the ball, get to the bucket, and score!
  25. Vonleh was at least in mock drafts his whole freshman year. Bryant hasnt appeared in any that Ive seen. I think small injuries have set Bryant back at the beginning of the year and we are starting to see his potential now. I don't think he is anywhere near ready and hope he doesn't go.
