True, but thats more than can be said about the Howland story I shared or Sampson, which was my whole point anyways...
-
Except Crean has disciplined players
-
This is off topic but every time we talk about Howland in this forum all I can think of is the article ESPN wrote about him years ago about how he lost control of the program at UCLA. Kind of a Sampson situation where he didn't care what players did off the court as long as he was successful on the court. http://espn.go.com/losangeles/ncb/story/_/id/7629031/ucla-bruins-coach-ben-howland-lost-control-highly-recruited-players-according-report

Grant officially signed today. I saw some video of him from the Indiana Top 80 camp and he one of the purest strokes Ive seen in awhile
-
I don't think it is that. Random numbers. Because at the camp they kept referring to Wilkes as the best in Indiana, regardless of class. I saw a few highlight videos and the kids wearing numbers 1 and 2 weren't kids that were well known at all( I follow recruiting and high school basketball and didn't recognize them at all)

Indiana v. Bellarmine - Nov. 9, 1900 EST on BTN+
Kepner replied to MartintheMopMan's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Seems like Bryant, Hartman, and Biefeldt didn't play much in the second half. Other than that it was normal -

Their starting lineup was bigger than ours, but other than that I agree with you 100%. Least we aren't Iowa or St Johns that both got beat by D2 schools -

He has learned a bit but after all the talk this offseason about how his decision making and shot had improved, Ive yet to see it. I still don't see him as a lottery pick. He has showed signs of maturity and Im hoping over the course of the season he can get it together -

Still lacking the killer instinct to finish off opponents. They had it last game vs Ottawa but not here. Looking sloppier as the game comes to a close -
So the news was that Keglar and Davis wanted to play together but now it seems that they will be choosing different schools?

How does someone let Yogi go out of the locker room after halftime with his shorts on inside out? hahahah -

Williams still seems to be playing out of control most of the time -
Indiana Hoosiers/Golden State Warriors
Kepner replied to Feathery's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The Warriors weren't thin up front though. They had Bogut (7'), Ezeli (6' 11"), and Speights (6' 10") and David Lee (6' 10")on the bench. Our tallest player is 6' 10". What the Warriors did best though is take advantage of mismatches. They started using smaller lineups in the finals because the Cavs were the ones that were thin up front and their bigs couldnt guard Iguodala and Draymond on the perimeter. If you watched the Warriors whole season and playoff run you will see that Bogut, Ezeli, and Speights played big roles. Azalea and Speights still play big roles for them. The Warriors also have some terrific defenders on their team.Their defense created a lot of offense for them by creating fast breaks. Crean says he wants to play run and gun, but I have yet to see it -
Devin Davis marijuana charge dropped
Kepner replied to sddowning's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If it was a possibility for them to come back, they wouldn't have been let go of in the first place. He wouldve given them long suspensions. But I doubt their trouble making days were over. Devin almost lost his life, and he was back to his ways months later. Holt almost killed someone (even it was an accident) and was also back to boozing. They had to go because they didn't learn a lesson and will probably be right back at it. -
IU Will Be More Successful If???
Kepner replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
We lived and died by Troy's game last year. The teams success mirrored his. When he showed up, the team won. When he disappeared and committed too many turnovers, the team lost. I had high expectations coming into this year for him, especially after hearing so much about him this offseason. Wasn't impressed last night but I hope it was just first game jitters -
Hoping to see a different Troy Williams this year. So far he looks too similar to last year
-
I wouldn't read too much into it. Subbing like crazy to get everyone in the game, plus its the first exhibition. Guys are still getting used to playing together. There are a lot of bright spots. Just shaking off the rust still
-
These announcers are kind of annoying. Saying some things that don't make any sense basketball wise
-
I don't know if it was already mentioned but... Mike Miller @MikeMillerHT 23h 23 hours ago Derouin said uOttawa won't have Vikas Gill, who shot 7-for-8 from 3pt range last year vs. IU. Gill is staying home due to classwork. #iubb

I'll be streaming it on btn plus. Im excited to get a good look at the squad. I'll post updates

People complained when we first signed Zeisloft and he turned out to be a great role player, thinking Gelon can come in and do the same. Not every player we sign is going to be a starter and a star, we need solid bench players as well.
-
Okay well bash was the wrong word, but people complained out the gate before even researching him. Then when people find out that is a a top 100 player, they all of a sudden change their tone and reasoning.
-
His father and Chuck Martin graduated college together so he definitely isn't the first in his family to go to college. He is just excited to be a Hoosier. These are the types of kids that we need. kids that want to be here. Same can be said for Grant Gelon. Sadly it seems like people around here just bash kids, even if they are excited to be here

Freshmen To be in Regular Rotation
Kepner replied to KelleyHoosh's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Except what people are saying after HH is the OG is probably going to be in the rotation because he will be a mismatch wherever he is playing. He can post up small guys and shoot over big guys. Seems like a really good defender as well. Time will only tell. I also think Morgan can come in and get us some rebounds
