Yeah, and I'm not even asking for the pick your seat experience. There was a LOT of crimson in the Phog last year b/c it was a pick your own seat experience. Do everything like they've already done. Prioritize the Varsity Club point system. All good. But they have all the tools and information available to give us a general idea of where our seats are going to be before requiring us to pay for them. Even if they got a bunch of opt-outs of the package, they'd be able to sell enough single game tickets to Kansas, MSU and OSU to more than make up for that.

Totally. I mean this (https://www.seats3d.com/ncaa/indiana_university/mens_basketball/#/) exists on the IU website. It's fantastic. The fact that they couldn't tell people which section of this map they will be in so they can make a much more informed decision is pretty lame. The registration period was like 3 weeks long, and then another week and a half before they emailed people. Seems the main goal here was simply to get as much money committed as possible vs. providing any kind of decent user/fan experience.

But if they’ve allocated the main floor vs. balcony, they’ve probably got seats pretty much assigned already. At least tell people something like…your seats will be in section DD in the first 5 rows. If closer seats become available via opt-outs, you’ll be moved up accordingly.” I want to be in the building no matter what. But mid court row 1 balcony is waaaay different than row 16 in the corner, and would probably make the difference between me staying in or bailing and buying on the secondary market.

So we really aren’t going to know any details about the seats we are paying for until we actually pay? So far, the experience through Kansas last year was vastly superior.

But I'm gonna guess that to a recruit these days, a team's social media strategy will far outweigh 6 games their grandma can't figure out how to watch.

Honestly I don’t see it happening regardless. I think Wommack will be a very hot commodity and even if there isn’t as much competition, I think he’ll have his choice of several programs far better than ours.

I can't believe Urban Meyer's name is even being brought up, for so many different reasons. So I'll just take it as a joke. If this season ends up another clunker, regardless of money, I think we have to move on. If we end up in a bowl game, he rightfully stays. Since I felt like the UofL game was pretty much a must have to make it to a bowl game, I'm now assuming this will be another clunker. Looking around the rest of CFB, it seems fairly likely there will be fewer power 5 jobs open this offseason that most. Which makes it even more important for us to move on, where we'd have less competition for a decent coach, like Kane Wommack. He's been here, he's seen you can have success here, he's seen you can recruit here, and (provided he paid attention at least to a the first couple of games the season after he left) he's seen fans will show up. He's going to get a better job than South Alabama so why not take that shot?

There may be something, who knows. But whatever their relationship, they were planning on attending complete opposite, biggest rivals to each other schools until MM decommitted.

I think we’ve had a net positive from the portal, but even more of a net positive for me at least was finally addressing the O-line. After Hiller was gone we averaged over 200 yards rushing. With Hiller we averaged less than 100 against teams not named Idaho. Anybody think we couldn’t have flipped the Maryland and Rutgers games, maybe even Nebraska, by simply not having Hiller run the O-line? I’m optimistic based on Bostad alone, the net gain in the transfer portal is just…..ah geez we’re gonna win the East aren’t we?

Sheeeessshhh. Been mostly out of pocket since about 4:45 CT dammit. Serendipitous though b/c I’ve got two good buddies who are KU fans and I texted them early in the day saying the winds were blowing toward Lawrence (just made it up) and they both agreed. So how did I find out it was IU? My KU buddies texting me “what the hell dude?” “You dirty SOB!” Love it!!!

Wait until you hear about fans at Indi.......eh, nevermind.
