The camera fixed on him for a bit after he missed a corner 3 last night. He honestly looked so dejected. He looked over at the bench, seeming to know he was coming out, which he did. Looked like Woodson didn't say anything to him as he came off, with his head down. Can't help but think his confidence is at or near an all time low.

It’s a great question. I honestly don’t know what my answer is. I think we are just a not very good team. It’s been evident in every win, and more so the in big losses. Sometimes not very good teams get up for big games at home. I think it’s far more likely that our not very good team got up for a big home game on Saturday than it is that we showed promise of the team we can be on Saturday. We’ll probably get up for some other big games at home this season. But I don’t see this team having the ability to build a tournament resume from here on out. I really hope I’m wrong.

Tough night for the “I told you so and I was right about Archie” crowd true fans. Biggest question is does that crew appreciate sarcasm?

I'm not entirely down on Woody and for many reasons I'm also hesitant to wade into the next coach conversation yet, but I'm going to bite only b/c of all the options thrown out there, I haven't seen one mentioned that I think has to be.....Dan Hurley. Now, before the onslaught comes, yes, I realize the big question is....do you leave UConn for Indiana? Maybe not. Or, is he a better fit at UConn than Indiana? Eh..maybe? But why not make him say no before moving down the list?

No clue where to put this so feel free to move but for the locals…any idea which bars have peacock and will be streaming Purdue/Arizona on Saturday? I’m guessing most will? Also any new must have restaurants in town? For the record I’m unapologetically asking this question in a super snobby way. I’m talking like super nice…fine dining if you will. I’m not opposed to crushing a strom at Nicks is the answer to this question is “no”.

My friend, Tom Allen had to take a timeout just last season, on the road at Nebraska, before a single second ran off the clock. Got the ball first, touch back on the kick off, so much confusion before even running a play he had to burn a timeout. This was after talking during the week about getting better starts to games. The most inconceivable of weird timeouts. No matter how weird Coach Cig's TOs have been during his JMU tenure, I don't need to know any details to be confident they won't sniff the weirdness of a Tom Allen timeout.

I think I said it in this thread, though yeah, mostly in the heat of the moment getting our tails handed to us and my in-laws annoying the crap out of me, but nonetheless my mind isn’t changed…I think we have to win this weekend to end up dancing. Can we go into a down B1G with zero quality OOC wins, knowing what this team is, and be confident we’ll build a resume? I think even winning all of our home games is quite a stretch. Now, I sincerely hope I eat crow, but I just don’t think this team has it in them, barring a miracle on Saturday.

That is my point though. I understand it’s not the whole picture. We’ve had the gavitt games or B1G/ACC games that get scheduled for us. We as a program need to be challenging ourselves and seeking out big time OOC games to get on the schedule. I’m glad we are doing that. But we’re not proving worthy of being in these matchups so far. Hopefully that’s our next step.

Yeah forgive me for interpreting your multiple posts about the refs as you thinking the refs were making a difference in this game. That’s totally on me and totally logical to blame that on someone else interpreting it that way. Sound all around.

I agree, but my statement is that if we don’t win next weekend I do not believe we have the capability to pull out enough quality wins in conference to make it happen. We are who we are. And I desperately hope I’m wrong.

Just stop man. It’s a 20 point game where they are playing smarter and harder than we are. The only thing more embarrassing than this effort is trying to continually blame the refs.

Next weekend is our chance to make the tournament. Pretty sad.
