  1. The next step for IU football is getting to crappy bowl games and winning them. In our hypothetical scenario, we would have just fired a coach who did exactly that and in a 5 season stretch, had 3 winning seasons, played in 2 January bowl games, won our first bowl game since ‘91, had us ranked in the top 10 at one point. I have my own thoughts on TA. Put all the qualifiers and asterisks on the COVID season, I get it. But this is arguably the worst program in major college football. I don’t care how much money we are offering, that would be one of the biggest “who the hell do you think you are?” moments in sports history to fire that coach.
  2. Sure, I don’t think there is a chance we are in this position, but that’s not the question that was posed.
  3. We do not have an attractive job to offer any candidate. It is even less attractive with the conference expanding. My personal thoughts on TA aside, if we fired him after winning the program’s first bowl game since ‘91….holy cow I can not imagine how thin that applicant list would be.
  4. What I see here is that we are all getting our wish. Kalen DeBoer will coach on the sidelines of Memorial Stadium next season. We just happen to be getting that wish in the most IU football way possible.
  5. At that rate, with my big fat zero points, I expect me and @Hovadipo to find out at halftime of the Kansas game that they’ve set up a empty office in Cook Hall for us to listen to Don Fisher on the radio call.
  6. Bush league. Absolute amateur hour (or…weeks?). But how adventurous! Ya know, next time I take my family to a restaurant I’m going to say, “no thank you on the menus. Here is my money. Take it. We’ll have 4 foods. You take that money and, most importantly, your time, and decide on 4 foods that we will have. It can be a nice medium rare filet in about 14 to 17 minutes. It could be butt stew and take 13 and a half hours. We will wait and we will eat it. That is a reasonable and logical outcome to this situation.”
  7. I got in at PSU -6.5 so we good!!
  8. We get to this point in the season and have THAT opportunity and we….play for the tie? Cowardly is the word that comes to mind.
  9. Yeah I’m not too worried about things during the game. Mainly everything besides that. I’m 41 and have 2 kids. Trust that I ditched any friends who would be out looking for a fight a long time ago :-). I’m bringing a pretty tame bunch.
  10. Kansas fans were awesome. The appropriate amount of banter while also being welcoming. All in good fun. Buddy, let me tell you, regardless of where we sit, I’m nervous about how my friends will be treated if they are wearing blue all weekend.
  11. Yeah I’m assuming we’ll be posted up right next to you up there. The best thing I did last year during the entire Lawrence experience remains warning my Kansas buddies that our experience in Bloomington didn’t have a single chance being as easy as it was there. And yes, apologies in advance that I’m bringing along 2 Jayhawks.
  12. None for me either. Of course it’s only been a week and a half since they took everybody’s money, 2 weeks since they confirmed who got tickets, and maybe like 6 weeks since they started taking registrations so it seems a little ambitious to expect that I’d know what I purchased yet.
  13. Sooooooooooooft. Lol. I remember watching a game last year and Allen was trying to get after one of the refs and it was easy to read his lips say "That's BULLCRAP!" I couldn't stop laughing and I don't know how the ref kept a straight face. Just say it Tom! It will feel so much better!!
  14. I have to apologize. I believe I’ve accused you of only showing up here for in-season L’s. But here you are proving me wrong by showing up for off season L’s as well. Again, my apologies :-).
  15. Eh, let’s be honest, we didn’t realize it then, but he’s always been pretty soft. It’s just amplified now. But another way to say what you’re saying is that he just can’t handle this responsibility.
  16. He’s so soft. He’s a terrible leader. And he’s a deeply unserious person. If results were bad, but none of the above were true, maybe it’s a different story. But there is not one single redeeming quality you want in a head coach being displayed by ours. We’ll see how serious of a person Dolson is.
  17. Card charged! Looking forward to finding out what I paid for!
  18. I'd like to speak to the manager please.
  19. Yeah, and I'm not even asking for the pick your seat experience. There was a LOT of crimson in the Phog last year b/c it was a pick your own seat experience. Do everything like they've already done. Prioritize the Varsity Club point system. All good. But they have all the tools and information available to give us a general idea of where our seats are going to be before requiring us to pay for them. Even if they got a bunch of opt-outs of the package, they'd be able to sell enough single game tickets to Kansas, MSU and OSU to more than make up for that.
  20. Totally. I mean this (https://www.seats3d.com/ncaa/indiana_university/mens_basketball/#/) exists on the IU website. It's fantastic. The fact that they couldn't tell people which section of this map they will be in so they can make a much more informed decision is pretty lame. The registration period was like 3 weeks long, and then another week and a half before they emailed people. Seems the main goal here was simply to get as much money committed as possible vs. providing any kind of decent user/fan experience.
  21. This is what’s frustrating. I get wanting to protect the home crowd with prioritizing varsity club points. But if they’ve allocated the main floor vs. balcony, they’ve probably got seats pretty much assigned already. At least tell people something like…your seats will be in section DD in the first 5 rows. If closer seats become available via opt-outs, you’ll be moved up accordingly.” I want to be in the building no matter what. But mid court row 1 balcony is waaaay different than row 16 in the corner, and would probably make the difference between me staying in or bailing and buying on the secondary market.
  22. So we really aren’t going to know any details about the seats we are paying for until we actually pay? So far, the experience through Kansas last year was vastly superior.
  23. Darn right! Now, do ya think McGinnis and the boys I mean MEN are gonna whup them sissy cats at the Fieldhouse this year? I'll have the radio dialed in throwin $%*& at the kids all night that's for sure!
  24. "Uhh...wut's regular TV?" - 17 year old kid who watches everything on his phone and has never lived in the era of "regular TV" I get what you're saying. But I'm gonna guess that to a recruit these days, a team's social media strategy will far outweigh 6 games their grandma can't figure out how to watch.
