  2. If Bama (his childhood team) is out of the picture… that’s good news.

  4. ....not 100%, but ol' A. I. says this..... Based on reports regarding the Indiana University (IU) basketball team representing the USA at the FISU America Games, a player born in Turkey can travel and practice with the team, but generally cannot play in the games. Only American citizens are eligible to participate in the competitive, Team USA-branded games, as the competition follows strict eligibility rules. [1, 2] Key Details regarding this scenario: Eligibility Restrictions: Because Indiana University is representing the United States, foreign-born players (such as Turkish international players) are likely restricted from participating in official, counted FISU competition games. Participation Limitations: International players on the roster can still attend the events, practice, and travel with the team as part of the team's international experience. FIBA Rules: FISU competitions are affiliated with FIBA (International Basketball Federation), which often applies strict eligibility rules, restricting players who have not represented the USA. Player Example: Specifically regarding IU's participation, Turkish international Samet Yigitoglu is mentioned as being restricted from playing in the games but able to travel and train. [1, 2] In summary, a Turkish-born player would not be able to play in the exhibition games, although they might be able to take part in other aspects of the team trip.
  5. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/fernando-mendoza-doesnt-plan-to-visit-the-white-house-with-indiana Mendoza says he might not go because of OTAs. I saw one video saying he is at the bottom of the totem pole and needs to work. Some sites are saying the visit is a week before his OTAs, so who knows.
  6. Supposedly down to Texas and IU. IU is in full court press on him. Just might close the deal.
  7. Today
  8. And because it's an Amreicas competition, Yigi will not be there as part of the Turkish team. Hoping to see the legendary Ahkeel and Ahseem Boyd suit up for Tobago!
  9. Because the Hoosiers will represent the USA, only American citizens on the IU roster will be able to participate. Again from ITH article.
  10. Are We sure about Samet not being eligible?
  11. The FISU America Games will be held from July 20 through August 1. The expectation is that the games will be available to stream. From ITH article on the Games.
  12. ....Yep, at least for these summer exibition games, we won't be able to see or hear about Samet Yigitoglu (born in Turkey) until the season officially starts. Currently, he's the only one not a naturally born citizen of the US.
  13. Yeah, athletically Osaruyi is an absolute freak show. He’s about as prototypical as NBA 4’s get. And the present skill is surprisingly good for a kid that young.
  14. An event like that is surely streamed somewhere.
  15. Can’t lie, if I’d realized he hadn’t signed yet I might have been a touch nervous.
  16. FWIW, here was Baylor's schedule when they represented the US last year at the world games. I'm not sure if there will be less games since these are "America" Games. This seems like the first edition of the games in this format that I can tell.
  17. Hoosiers will be playing in Peru - no, not Peru, IN, but that country in South America July 20-Aug 1. https://247sports.com/college/indiana/article/agents-to-peegscom-indiana-international-trip-to-peru-284063743/?fbclid=IwY2xjawRley1leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETFwOFNBcEFodjBVUTVOdU5mc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHpRCgzGL8p0Iuhw-SSAUqVeGXpwkgsfMLbvPvITr7OF46_acfChSjNwZrdtR_aem_YR8GbQXHQ78oOLgwLtjTQQ
  18. Good rebounding rate and a spectacular block rate. Not sure how he'd hold up if he had to play extended minutes but would be an exceptional rotation piece.
  19. Have had my eye on Miller for a while. Strictly a PnR finisher and rim protector and a fouling machine, but given what they’d be looking for here that’s fine with me. And another guy with multiple years.
  20. Looks like Ja'Quay is off the board to Portland State.
  21. Mercer is in the last year of his contract. I'm guessing we'll have a new coach next season.
  22. This season was over almost immediately. That stinks the worst because I’ll usually tune in a watch some games if we are near tournament worthy. This team was immediately not that despite preseason rankings indicating we’d be close. I don’t pretend to know what the right move is for Indiana baseball in this case, but it feels like a change is needed.
  23. I've mostly ignored the baseball team the last couple of seasons. Any chance IU makes a coaching move now, or are we in for another forgetable season next year?
