The Indiana Hoosiers will send a total of 12 swimmers and diver to Indianapolis this week for the NCAA Championships. Along with the individual events listed below, the Hoosiers will also swim in the 800 freestyle relay, the 400 medley relay and the 200 medley relay.
 
The Hoosiers have recorded some impressive times this season, earning five individual top-10 seeds at this year's NCAA Championships. Leading the way for IU is the defending NCAA champion in the 100 and 200 breast, Lilly King, who is the No. 1 seed in both events again this season.
 
Gia Dalesandro is the No. 5 seed in the 100 fly and the No. 7 seed in the 200 fly, while Kennedy Goss is the No. 6 seed in the 200 backstroke. In addition, the Hoosiers are seeded No. 5 in the 400 medley relay.

The No. 15-ranked Indiana University women's swimming and diving team had a tremendous Thursday night at the 2017 NCAA Championships at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind. Through two days, the Hoosiers sit in 10th place overall with a total of 61 points.

The No. 15-ranked Indiana University women's swimming and diving team had a record-breaking night at the 2017 NCAA Championships at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind. on Friday. After three days of competition, the Hoosiers sit in eighth place at the NCAA Championships with a total score of 125 points.

The No. 4-ranked Indiana University men's swimming and diving team will head to Indianapolis, Ind. for the 2017 NCAA Championships this week.
 
The four-day meet gets underway on Wednesday night at the IU Natatorium with the finals of the 800 freestyle relay. The next three days will feature prelims beginning at 10 a.m. ET, with finals following at 6 p.m. ET. Diving trials and consolation finals will begin following swimming prelims Thursday through Saturday.

- IU had a great showing in the 1-meter dive prelims, as both James Connor and Michael Hixon qualified for Thursday night's Championship Final. Connor qualified third overall with a score of 396.30, while Hixon qualified fifth with a total of 384.70.

- In the 400 medley relay, IU's team of Bob Glover, Ian Finnerty, Vini Lanza and Blake Pieroni qualified third overall for the Championship Final with a time of 3:03.84. 

- In the 200 freestyle relay prelims, the IU team of Ali Khalafalla, Blake Pieroni, Sam Lorentz and Josh Romany set the school record, qualifying sixth overall for the Championship Final with a time of 1:16.53.

- Marwan Elkamash had a terrific swim in the prelims of the 500 freestyle, setting the Indiana school record with a time of 4:11.84. Elkamash will be the No. 6 seed for Thursday night's Championship Final.

- Ali Khalafalla had a great swim in the 50 freestyle prelims, placing 11th to earn a spot in the Consolation Final of the event with a time of 19.13. Khalafalla's mark is the third-best time in school history.

- In the 200 IM prelims, Vini Lanza qualified for the Consolation Final with a time of 1:42.44, earning the No. 12 seed. Lanza's mark is the third-best time in school history.

After two days at the NCAA Championships, the Hoosiers sit in fifth place overall with a total score of 121 points, just two points shy of N.C. State in fourth place. Texas leads with a score of 225.5, followed by California with 143 and Florida with 138.5.

The No. 4 Indiana Hoosiers will continue competition at the 2017 NCAA Championships on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. ET with the prelims of the 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 200 medley relay and 3-meter dive.

The Indiana University men' swimming and diving team brought a historic 2017 NCAA Championships to a close on Saturday night at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
 
The Hoosiers placed seventh overall with a total of 229.5 points. The finish is the best for Indiana at a NCAA Championships since also placing seventh 38 years ago in 1979. The 229.5 points are the most for IU since scoring 274 in 1975. The top-10 finish for the Hoosiers at the NCAA Championships is the fifth in the last six years.

The No. 3/7 Indiana University men's and women's swimming and diving teams finished the dual-meet season with an exclamation point, sweeping the No. 14/10 Louisville Cardinals on Friday afternoon in Louisville, Ky.
 
The No. 3-ranked Hoosier men defeated the No. 14 Cardinals, 184.5-115.5, to finish the season undefeated for a second-straight year with a 9-0 record. The IU men have won 22-straight dual meets, with the team's last loss coming on Jan. 16, 2016.
 
The No. 7-ranked Indiana women's team took down No. 10 Louisville, 160.5-139.5, to finish the dual-meet season with a 5-4 record.
 
Lilly King led the way for the Hoosier women on Friday, winning three individual events. The Evansville, Ind. product won the 100 breaststroke (59.99) and 200 breaststroke (2:11.03) with NCAA B cut times. The junior then touched first in the 400 IM with a personal-best and NCAA B cut mark of 4:13.69.
 
Five Hoosiers won two individual events apiece against the Cardinals. Ian Finnerty swept the breaststroke, winning the 100 (53.20) and 200 (1:59.55) with NCAA B cut times. Vini Lanza swept the butterfly events, winning the 100 (46.86) and 200 (1:45.14) with NCAA B cut marks.
 
For the Hoosier women, Cassy Jernberg won the 1,000 freestyle with a personal-best time of 9:53.23 and then came back later in the day to touch first in the 500 freestyle with a mark of 4:51.49.
 
In the diving well, Jessica Parratto continued to dominate. The redshirt junior won both the 1-meter (298.65) and 3-meter (333.75) with NCAA Zones qualifying scores. On the men's side, freshman Mory Gould won his first collegiate event, taking the top spot in the men's 3-meter with a personal-best and NCAA Zones qualifying score of 362.40.
 
The IU men had a great showing in the sprint freestyle events, winning the 50, 100 and 200 against the Cardinals with NCAA B cut marks. Ali Khalafalla won the 50 free in 19.60, while Blake Pieroni touched first in the 100 free in a time of 43.75. Mohamed Samy won the 200 free with a mark of 1:34.76.
 
Rounding out the individual winners for the IU men was freshman Gabriel Fantoni. The reigning two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week won the 100 backstroke with a NCAA B cut time of 47.27.
 
For the Hoosier women, three swimmers earned one win each on the day with NCAA B cuts. Ali Rockett was first in the 100 backstroke in 53.69, while Kennedy Goss touched first in the 200 back with a mark of 1:56.91. Christine Jensen won the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.22.
 
In the 200 medley relay, the Hoosiers earned the sweep. IU women's team of Ali Rockett, Lilly King, Christine Jensen and Shelby Koontz won with a mark of 1:38.14. On the men's side, the team of Gabriel Fantoni, Ian Finnerty, Vini Lanza and Ali Khalafalla won with a time of 1:26.29.
 
In the final event of the meet, the Hoosier men's 400 freestyle relay team of Ali Khalafalla, Vini Lanza, Mohamed Samy and Blake Pieroni won with a time of 2:54.54.

After the first day of competition, the Hoosiers lead with a total of 118 points. Minnesota is in second place with 112 points, while Ohio State and Wisconsin are tied for third with 104. Purdue rounds out the top-five with 96 points.
 
The Hoosiers started off the night with a huge performance in the 200 medley relay, winning the Big Ten title with a time of 1:34.16. The team of Ali Rockett, Lilly King, Christine Jensen and Grace Haskett's time set the IU school, Big Ten, Big Ten meet and McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion records.

The time, which was just 0.01 seconds off the American record and 0.06 off the NCAA record, is the best time in the nation this year, a NCAA A cut and the third-best time in the history of the event. The 200 medley relay crown is the fifth in program history and the third in the last five years for the Hoosiers.

The No. 9 Hoosiers will continue the 2018 Big Ten Championships on Thursday morning with the prelims of the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle and 1-meter dive.

The No. 9-ranked Indiana University women's swimming and diving team won another title on Friday night at the 2018 Women's Big Ten Championships at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio.
 
Headed in to the fourth and final day on Saturday, the Hoosiers sit in second place with a total of 787 points. Michigan lead with 926 points, while Minnesota is third with 742 points. Ohio State (725) and Wisconsin (514) round out the top-five.
 
For the third-straight season, Lilly King was dominant in the Championship Final of the 100 breaststroke, winning with a NCAA A cut time of 56.46. King's time is the second-best of her career and broke the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion pool record she set in the morning prelims.
 
The Big Ten title is the third this week for King, who was on the winning 200 and 400 medley relays. The Evansville, Ind. native has won 11 Big Ten championships so far in her career.
