1. Ditto on the Colts?

2. He was not in the lineup many 3rd downs the last year. We ran a lot of screens because we had no receivers. He isn’t bad, but he isn’t great either. Cohen is our 3rd down back.

3. The Bears aren’t trading him. That was debunked a few hours ago.

To add if your offense is about bubble screens he would be great as a receiver. Beyond that he isn’t running routes. Which is fine by me. He does plenty for us. Unless we are getting Barkley there is no need to trade him. The Dolphins wanted to trade for Howard earlier this offseason.

You cannot compare the Colts to the Bears the last 20 years, it's just not even close. Cohen is OK, he isn't Jordan Howard though.

Cool, I am for artificial timelines that fit my narrative too. I could do the same for the Bears. What’s it prove? In the here and now I will take our situation every day of the week. Cohen is 100* the receiver Howard is. Not even close. As a running back it’s Howard all day every day, which this discussion was not about.

I have no idea how a Bears fan would feel content with the decisions the their front office has made the last 10 years...  An artificial timeline? what? lol I have no idea what this has to do with the Colts... you cannot compare our success to yours. Two different levels.

Pretty easy to see why a Bears fan should question their front office, especially if they traded JH.

The first half of the first paragraph is exactly what I would say to a Colts fan so is that supposed to be a dig? We are kind of in the same boat with switching philosophies just a bit further along in the process.

Yes. When you say to look back at the most successful timeline and say compare that is what is called an artificial timeline. Our history is a wee bit better. If I have to debate that, I will just walk away. The Colts had a great run with one QB. That’s it. They have 1 super bowl to show for it. That’s it. That’s not a bad thing, but don’t try to make it more than what it was. That isn’t on Peyton either. That was your glowing front office after 2005.

As for the last part, what can I say? That was never a thing and was debunked last night. So why question them over that? I choose not to jump to conclusions until I hear something truthful.

Sorry if I struck a cord. Just think the Bears should make better front office decisions, and personnel decisions.

And they have. Glennon doesn’t count towards anything cap wise this year. I like Trubisky with actual receivers. The Emery/Trestman era will go down as the worst in Bears history for sure. I like Pace. Our oldest signed player currently is Kyle Long at 29. We are way under the cap. Our core is all 23-26. We need a couple of good drafts but I am very content with our personnel decisions sans Glennon the last 2 seasons. Glennon cost us $18 mill last year when we had $70 mill in cap space.

Your last 15 years aren't even close to ours. I'm not going to debate this though. Bears have been a perennial bottom dweller the last 15 years.

How do people feel about Denzel Ward? The stuff he did at the combine rated out favorably to Jalen Ramsey

40 - 4.34 (Ward), 4.41 (Ramsey)

Bench Press - 16 reps (Ward), 14 reps (Ramsey)

Vertical - 39 (Ward), 41.5 (Ramsey)

Broad jump - 136 (Ward), 135 (Ramsey)

One big thing is Ramsey has better size than Ward, 6'1 and 209 versus 5'10 and 190. Both tested out as great athletes. My big thing is our current FO have had great track records identifying defensive back talent. I like Desir, but he is what eh is a solid starter at a position whose shelf life isn't good unless you are exceptionally gifted. Think Wilson will turn into something long term, having another guy across from him who can shut down his side of the field would be great

Lol, more talking points. I guess Kiper and McShay are saying the Colts and Dolphins have a deal in place for us to move to 11 and get more picks. Really thinking Smith or Edmunds is gonna end up being our first round pick after we're done wheeling and dealing

Is anyone else annoyed/concerned that Luck still isn't throwing real footballs 15 months after surgery and the Colts are acting like that's completely normal/acceptable?

Wait - I thought they said a couple weeks back that he WAS throwing footballs now.

They clarified recently and said it was a "small football." I'm not sure how he can throw tennis balls, baseballs and small footballs but not a real one. Or how he can regain so much muscle mass lifting heavy weights but throwing a football remains such a challenge.

It's just different. No reason to rush anything either.
