All of UCLA and Va Tech's players have a 30 day window to transfer. And with only 3 games played redshirt is still on the table to those that are eligible.  The IU staff has a decent pipeline in Virginia and probably recruited a lot of Va Tech's current roster. Keep an eye on this.

Those VT WRs are serious. One Greene is a grad student, but the younger Greene (don’t believe they’re related) is a junior and we’re about to have a Sarratt and Cooper sized hole to fill.

Roster states Cooper is a junior.

Hope he comes back. He’s on the trajectory to not be back.

Yeah, I wasn’t thinking clearly.  He’s definitely looking to be drafted.  DUH.  Just me being a maroon, as Bugs B. would say.  LOL

Nice.  Will UCLA even have a team next week?

This is a valid question. Next week? Probably. Through the next 30 days? Unknown.

A broader question to anyone here, does IUFB have any wiggle room (enough scholarships etc. etc.) to bring in any transfers?  I don't even know how all this works.

Is that you Tom Allen?

I know this wasn't your point, but their D has looked solid from what I've seen. The offense is putrid though. With as much experience as they had returning Joel Klatt picked them to win the NC! If they weren't in the ACC, I'm not sure they'd even make a bowl game.

Believe we’re right at 105, but it will be very rare for a school to be able to take on any of these VT/UCLA guys this year. And even if they somehow made it work, they’d only be able to practice. It’s more of a problem to solve for next year’s roster numbers as these are more or less just the first guys to hit the 2026 portal.

Foster will have ended up getting paid ~$10M for 1.25 seasons as a HC, including his ~$6.4M buyout. Being a failed head coach is lucrative. I'm willing to get paid millions to not win games. Where do I sign up?

Foster and Woodson have a lot in common...

I fuggin hate that we think it takes four years to determine if a coach deserves fired.  We're seriously the only school who thinks that and a main reason we've been so bad in basketball for the last decade

I wish someone would write a book about our athletic department hiring the coaches it did and why they were kept for so long. We are the only fanbase I've ever heard that claims firing a failing coach too early will make us seem less attractive to better candidates, so we need to give them more time to fail and damage everything. It's baffling.

Woodson wasn’t good, but even in context, he was worlds better than Foster, especially during his first two years at IU. All because of  TJD? I suppose that could be said, but a four seed in the tourney in year two was a solid result.

True.  Along with both being all-American alums from their schools that disappointed.
