I'm ready for 2016 IU Football

Recommended Posts

I pump myself up every year for football. You have to as an IU fan or you won't make it. Plus I love telling SEC fans... you can't troll Indiana football lol. It's impossible. But a lot of people actually don't know of some studs Indiana has. We can start out 3-0 this year. I think the Michigan State game will say everything about our season. It isn't a must win.. but it has to stay close. We have 10 winnable games this year. Only need 6.

If we start 4-0 by somehow beating Mich St. at home then we will likely get some love in the polls! And if we are to beat the Spartans, this would be the year. They lost some key pieces in Connor Cook and Aaron Burbridge as well as some other pieces on defense. And their two games before coming to Bloomington are against Notre Dame and Wisconsin.

^^This^^

It seems like every year we have a 'big opportunity game' where we can make a legit claim as a top 25 team if we win. Last year, it was Ohio State at home.

It also seems as if during those games, we play well, and fade in the 4th quarter.

This year, Michigan State at home will be that game.

Last year we played Ohio State in an awesome game.. and played half of it without a QB. The problem was getting blasted by PSU right after and then that massive fail against Rutgers. All part of 6 straight losses. Something way too familiar. This year our schedule shouldn't allow for 6 game losing streaks. I think we have 10 winnable games this year. I see no reason we don't go to a bowl game unless our offense sputters under a different QB or our defense somehow takes a step back again.

I truly have us as an 8 win team. Mainly based on questions at the quarterback position. It's as good a year as any to have questions at that spot cause our line will protect them. Defensively we have talent. We shouldn't see 40 plus put up every game against us. I am cautiously optimistic as well.

I'm never cautiously optimistic about football. I'll go full homer at times. I like Scales and Crawford on the defensive side. We'll also have another 6-2 safety in Thompson along with Crawford. Hopefully Allen has good schemes because I am tired of seeing players out of position on every play because of terrible scheming. This is a huge year for IU. We have one of the top players in the nation on the O-Line. One of the best WR's and RB's in the B1G with Cobbs and Redding... we do good this year and recruiting could for once pick up a little.

I'm excited for the season to begin. We had a good showing in our bowl game last year and hopefully we can keep the offensive petal to the floor and improve our defense. Looking forward to a good year!
