What do you mean higher valued? Pretty sure we were picked to come in second in the big ten after Maryland. Not sure where MSU was picked

Maybe pre season but before big ten play i am sure msu, Maryland, and purdue were surely ahead of iu. I don't have stats but I am confident after maui duke and jbj went down not very many experts were high on the Hoosiers or our awesome defense

If we are excusing losses due to an injury what does everyone think the media will say about the job Crean did when Blackmon went out? Let's be real. The man did his best coaching job when one of his top players went down. That doesn't happen often. How many teams improve when the 2nd leading scorer goes down? He deserves credit.

makes alot more sense. I am more interested in how conference play has been. When they vote that is what they go by right? If not why not wait till after ncaa tourney?

I feel like that just rewards him for underachieving before conference play. And punishes Izzo for success.

Izzo has had a tougher schedule and more adversity in conference. I gotta give him props for that.

I just don't see Crean getting enough votes from other B1G coaches to win it.  He might win COY by the media but not the coaches.  I would say it's either Gard or Fran depending on the outcome of the regular season.  Gard would probably be my choice at the moment.

I will argue the more adversity part but we will see how iu finishes because tonight crean is facing more adversity than Izzo has all season at least that I am aware of. I get your point on rewarding crean for underachieving but look at the turn around for conference play.

I'd say losing Valentine was worse but I might be biased because I'm not a big JBJ fan

4 of 5 of MSU's losses have been with Valentine in the lineup including Nebraska at home. The lone loss without him was against Iowa.

that is fair. I may be biased also because I hate Izzo and michigan st but am also not a crean fan. I was just giving my opinion on this subject as of today. Doesn't matter who is right or wrong. Lot of work left to do by all coaches who are in the running

To say it should be Izzo at this point is laughable. All 5 losses have occurred in big ten play and at one point were they not number 1 in the counrty? It is between gard fran and crean but I think Crean has to win the big outright to get it same with fran. Gard probably will get it just my guess

they got there early in the season. If IU had been where MSU was and then crap canned our shot at the big ten I would be calling for Creans head not coach of the year lol.

I can't find online if they vote on entire season or just conference play and that would effect my opinion so I guess I can't give my opinion if I am not sure what I am taking about lol
