Walking Boot of Doom Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Bob Knight will be speaking on February 6th in Indianapolis at... Wait for it... The Purdue Ag Alumni Fish Fry. He probably had to prepare his speech for the Fish Fry, and that's why he couldn't attend the awards ceremony for the greatest team in college basketball history. F*** off, Bobbo. IUaic Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Since he won't respond to requests for him to show up, why not start asking him to not show up? Open Letter to Pat's Dad: Yo Bobbo, The game of basketball and Indiana University have passed you by. Enjoy your retirement! Sincerely, Middle Aged IU Fan. Tom White 1 Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Pat tried and DV tried but a fan angle who wanted to try and influence him as the OP stated is a new angle. I mentioned Pat and DV as potential messengers for this new approach. They would not be trying to get him back based on their thoughts but based on a groundswell of fan support. They just happened to be the ones we found to deliver the message. I don't think it would work but I would be on board with one last attempt to bring him back. Maybe one of the message boards could sponsor the effort. Who knows, the fan angle could have been done before. I have to imagine it has actually. Just never reported on a forum before. Quote

biteoftheapple Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 For myself, I will always have room in my mind to remember all the wonderful years Bob brought to me through watching his teams play. I do not hate him for his actions. I just wish he was as forgiving as any that feel as I do. Schreckbagger 1 Quote

schoosier Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I think loyalty is one of his good qualities. I'm afraid he's too stubborn to allow that quality to come through at this point. To be honest, I wish he would just come home and put this crap to bed, but I'm not sure that happens. If it ever happens, I'm guessing it will be like Mellencamp playing at the 'Bluebird'. (It will just happen... maybe, he will ride up on a Harley ....)Mellencamp did play the Bluebird in 88 gearing up for an upcoming tour. So you're saying there's a chance? I remember dime pitchers of beer at that place. Quote
