Tom Crean and his one dimensional players

Recommended Posts

some off the ball screens might be nice for our shooters.

Don't hold your breath.  Hulls was one of the top 5 shooters to ever play at Indiana, and I don't remember Indiana setting a single off-ball screen to get him open in the 4 years he was here.   It's like Crean doesn't know how.   Hell, run the picket fence...right from the movie.  Just to show you have a clue.

Is it really on the players or on the coach. A great coach can use one dimensional players to his advantage, like pieces to a puzzle. These guys are talented. There isn't a team out there that has a roster full of players that excel at EVERYTHING to do with the game. Each player has his strengths and weaknesses and its up to the coach to put them in the right place and time to use their strengths to the team's advantage. I don't see that here anymore

Cal or Coach K would go to another final four with this group easy.

Through 4 games and is not as good as of passer than most good programs.

Per what standard? Your learned eye for all things basketball? He's no D'Angello Russel, but passing looked crisp all around yesterday for a lot of the game. He found a lot of open shots after some penetration.

Yogi had 11 points, 7 rebounds (5 of which were on the offensive glass), 5 assists, a steal, only one PF, and ZERO turnovers. Honestly, that's what I want to see out of him. Unfortunately, we had Troy and JBJ combine for 9 turnovers, with JBJ throwing up a solid 1-8 FG, 1-6 from 3 performance.

Get off Yogi.

Yeah I don't expect us to have players who are good at everything. But we don't have 4 or so players who are good all alround at a lot of things. Yes it's good to have one dimensional players or role players but you can't name me a team that had only one dimensional players and accomplished a final four

Bryant following his man to the perimeter and no switches being made lead to what was basically a layup drill .Why wasn't that corrected mid game?

While I agree Yogi over dribbles and hunts his own shot to often, our lack of good defensive principles and ridiculous offensive possessions in crunch time were our doom.

Yogi didn't cost us this game Tom Crean ,Troy Williams and JBJ did.
