Indiana vs Creighton Post Game Thread

I agree and that's what I think Dakich is saying. If you put a freshman Zeller vs a freshman TB I think TB would eat Zeller for lunch. If TB continues to improve like I think he will I think by the time he leaves he'll be a much better player than Zeller.

I'm not taking anything away from Cody but I think TB is going to be an absolute monster, especially if he stays a 2nd year.

I remember Cody handling Anthony Davis pretty well. IF TB is that much better than Cody as a frosh he won't be here for a second season.

wrong. Imagine Anthony Davis or Ben Simmons or Cody Zeller as seniors. They never make it to senior year because of their talent. You have to compare across the same class for it to make any sense at all. Thus comparing our Freshman. I HAVE NEVER said 3 star players can't make good upperclassman. Let's use logical comparisons though.

Are you not saying 3 stars don't make much of an impact? Because that's, like, exactly what you said. I have no idea what Simmons and co. have to do with Z making an impact.

In order for star ranking comparisons you must compare equal classes. Freshman vs other Freshman and etc.

No I am saying 3 stars are less of immediate impact players and may or may not turn into good upper classman. 4 stars are more immediate impact players with an even better chance of being good upper classman. 5 stars are usually instant impact.

Why is this so hard to understand?

Comparing a 2 star SENIOR Ziesloft doesn't prove anything except some low rated players are good upperclassmen. I have never argued they can't be. It is just less likely statistically and takes longer.

Like, that's exactly what I've been saying.

Lol whatever man. I'm not sure what your deal is with this recruiting class crusade but have at it. I just don't know what your recruiting potshot had to do with the postgame thread.

It's not a potshot at all. It's another game of evidence showing what our Freshman our offering. TB is playing out of his mind. Morgan and OG minutes are limiting and seem to be struggling as anyone would expect.

IMO it just proves that the recruiting analysts do a good job. (People constantly argue that stars mean nothing) That's all. I think both OG and Morgan can be good players and so does Crean. Just going to take them longer.

I mean its the perfect 5 -star vs 3 -4 star example. TB is ready to play at this level. OG and JM not so much.

Just to show an example on the other side of the arguement. Chase jeter is a highly ranked 5 star freshman for duke. He looks just as lost as our low rated freshman on the court in the 3 games I watched. I think he is averaging 3 Pts and 3 rebounds in 3 games(had goose eggs in the Kentucky game) I think he will be good but looks like he isn't ready to contribute yet. Marquese Chriss a freshman ranked 77 (which is one lower then Juwan 78) is contributing for the Washington Huskies and is having an immediate impact for his team.
No one is wrong in this debate other people just have a harder time accepting a different point of view. I was listening to Mel kiper on a podcast once and he said rankings=hype and hype is for the fans. I don't think for 1 second a high major coach is waiting by the computer waiting for Evan Daniels or 247 or ESPN to come out with their top 100 list when they are recruiting a kid. but as fleek said I can't wait for the next game it will be interesting to see yogi play against Crawford(112) who I wanted as bad as anyone in the 2015 class
