(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati

Recommended Posts

This kid should be prioritized more than Garland IMO. Ever since Duke offered Garland it's been all Duke towards him. Maybe we find a way, but Phinisee is not far behind him and will be here longer. He's my top target for '18. We get him and a solid wing & big and im sold on that class depending on roster turnover.

Johnson & Landford have be the top guys overall though. Their talent is unmatched and were in a good spot w both. Landford could be a huge swing & miss tho. I like Easley Jr as well. I think were in good shape w the '18 class overall. I know everyone said the same about this class. Different feel and continued success changes things.

McCutcheon handily beats Kokomo. They're a very solid team. Not sure what Phinisee finished with, I would guess around 20 and I don't believe he even played in the 4th quarter, looked like he had cramps. Very smooth player, one of those guys that ends up with 20 and you're wondering when that happened. He's going to be a really good senior. Wouldn't mind seeing him don the Crimson and Cream at all.

The games I've seen him play, he is a facilitator for his teammates in the 1st half and then becomes a scorer in the 2nd.  Did you happen to notice if that seemed to be the case tonight?

He had 12 in the first half, but they only had a 2 point lead and he definitely came out in the 3rd quarter looking to score. Ball moved through him a lot more and the lead went up to 20 in a matter of minutes. He could have easily had 30 had he not had those cramps (plus they were up by so much they didn't need him back in).

CRAWFORDSVILLE – Just how good is Class 4A No. 5 McCutcheon without its all-everything guard Robert Phinisee?

Answer: pretty darn good.

Eddy Collins poured in a career-high 33 points to lead the Mavericks to a 108-39 domination of North Montgomery on Saturday night.

Phinisee did not play after suffering a thigh bruise in a victory at Kokomo on Friday night.

Collins is no joke. During shootaround before the Kokomo game, me and my friend were double checking the program to make sure Phinisee was who we thought he was because Collins was draining 3 after 3 after 3. Kid's a lefty with a real quick release. While Phinisee is clearly their best player that team has a lot of talent.

"I wonder why a former Syracuse QB was at my practice today. Maybe they'll send McNabb next time."
