Recruiting tactic

Recommended Posts

I was reading and watchin a short video on how Michigan (football) is going to be using virtual reality in recruiting. They have a company making VR headsets and the coaches can take the headsets on visits. To me this is a great idea and I think being able to bring a packed Assembly Hall to a family's living room would be a fantastic sell for recruits.

Isn't this already in the mix with the Cuban Center. I thought I heard them talking about that kinda stuff.

ITH/Assembly Call did a podcast with Jeremy Gray a while back and he talked about how they were going to use virtual reality in recruiting. Stated something along the lines of the recruit being able to put on the headset and see what it was like to run out with the team into a packed AH and play in a game. Things of that nature. The interview had a lot of good interview about what the Cuban Center will be able to do so I would give it a listen.

Sounds pretty sweet too me. You can say/hear all you want about Assembly Hall experiences. But being able to experience it may give a recruit an idea of what it's like to run out in front of the best college basketball fans in the best basketball setting out there.

Virtual reality is one of the big things the Cuban Center will be involved with I met with Jeremy Gray Tuesday at IU and he was just coming from a meeting he had with Coach Wilson on the topic.

As a matter of fact, Jeremy Gray just tweeted this yesterday...

"Genuinely amazed that we purchased VR tech in May for the @CubanCenter and are already able to create our own quality VR content. #IUVR"

If I remember right, that's what differentiates the Cuban center from virtual reality other schools are using, the fact that IU controls their content while other schools outsource their creative content.
