I'm happy for Ty that he made the decision that he though was best for him. But its wack that we're losing our talent to the likes of Louisville (coach johnson) and Duke. Understanding that Kenny actually got a promotion with his move.

Ty very well could have had a promotion or pay increase as well. Hard to pick sides not knowing all the details. I know if IU paid me $50k and Duke offered $70k my IU wardrobe would move to the closet. It's a ton of access to IU basketball which we would all love, but from a resume standpoint it makes sense.

Option 1:
Indiana Basketball 2014-2017

Option 2:
Indiana Basketball 2014-2015
Duke Basketball 2015-2017

Resume 2 looks better not because it's duke, but because 2 different huge programs have hired him vs just being at 1 (that he was a former athlete at).

Just my two cents

It' a harsh reality that we live in. Indiana Basketball is no longer a giant in the CBB world. A lot has to change for us to get back. I cant believe I'm saying this but I feel really bad for Crean. The guy has an incredible eye for talent in many fields. The fact that elite teams continue to poach our personnel each offseason speaks to just how dialed in he is, in regards to talent recognition. It has to feel frustrating for him to constantly have to search for replacements organically, while others just cherry pick from the top crop.

Well put. I admit, I didnt even attempt to look at it from that perspective. Here's to hoping we can find someone equal;y as talented.

Indiana could have just won a title and he probably still would have left. It has nothing to do with Indiana "no longer being considered a giant in the CBB world." It has everything to do with DukeBluePlanet. They have the best social media, website, YouTube presence, etc. in the country and have for a whie.
