I visited Normandy not too long ago. There are still large cannonball indentations on the ground. If u go there u realize how large of a task it was to overcome and secure that patch of land. Never forgotten and always respected.

The WWII museum in NOLA (formerly the D-Day Museum) is an incredible museum, but a rough walk-through. I highly encourage it for anyone.

I spent two weeks in Portsmouth, UK. There are a lot of D-Day displays and things to see there about the invasion.  There is a museum on the beach and things to see. They have a church without a roof that they have left as a tribute to the bombs that were dropped during the war.
