D-Day

Recommended Posts

1944 was the year, nearly 9000 american men and boys were killed or wounded on the beach of Normandy, France. Never forget what was sacrificed by so many to assure our freedoms and way of life.

I visited Normandy not too long ago. There are still large cannonball indentations on the ground. If u go there u realize how large of a task it was to overcome and secure that patch of land. Never forgotten and always respected.

I spent two weeks in Portsmouth, UK. There are a lot of D-Day displays and things to see there about the invasion.  There is a museum on the beach and things to see. They have a church without a roof that they have left as a tribute to the bombs that were dropped during the war.
