Q&A With OG Anunoby

Recommended Posts

I think we've seen the results of Crean's "point forward" experiments in the past. If he doesn't have even high school level PG skills now, it will be very difficult to develop well enough to play point at any time in his IU career.

We've seen it with Hollowell (bust) and Troy. Troy actually had some success when he played point. I agree though, it would be difficult to adequately develop them without previous development and training. Still hoping to see it eventually though!

Lets NOT bring back the old "set shot from between the legs", four corner offense, or "NO DUNKING"....kapich?  Basketball has had some really numb rules in the past!  Its so much better now!!!!

Is this a serious post?  I don't know you, so I don't know your humor....    Not at all what I was suggesting, but maybe this is a topic that's been covered before and the joke's on me....but if you're serious; a huge reach.    :scratchhead:

I was just messing wit ya buddy....All for fun!

Good enough...I'm just tired of kids who know the sport but not the game.  Who know the highlight plays but don't make anybody around them better or have any skills between 20 feet and 2 inches.  We don't need more of those...we already have 10.   Show me a kid who wants to defend...work on a pull up or mid-range game...become a great post feeder....and yes....the between the legs shot.  I can't believe players don't use that anymore.   It's almost unblockable by today's athlete.

I don't think the issue is players not being skilled, bc they are very skilled these days. The problem is they are skilled with the ball in their hands and at putting the ball on the floor. This leads to them not being as good at shooting, moving without the ball, and passing. Too much individual work with the ball and not enough of just playing pick up games. You can learn the most from playing pick up games with guys who are older, instead it's nothing but individual workouts and aau games.

Calbert was THE master of the pull-up.  Look what that got him...National Player of the Year....All-Time B1G leading Scorer.  I am in your league.

Imagine if JBJ had a consistent pull-up jumper like Calbert?

It would be an added dimension that I don't think opposition could handle or react to.  It would definitely open up other possibilities for TB because they would have to come out and guard that pull-up shot.

I think Colin is a player that makes others better and I'm hoping he's still a big part of the plan for next year.

He seems happy to do the little things needed to make s team successful.

Totally we were lost a lot when he was injured during the season. I love that he knows his role and just plays tough

Actually he had a nice pull up and used it in High school and when he first came here. Now it's disappeared for the bull rush and block at the rim.

Crean's analytic approach say's the mid range is a bad shot.

Cody Zeller was supposed to have a pretty good mid range in high school too, then once he got on campus it was abandoned for lowering his shoulder and driving.

Saw Cody in high school and he had a nice 15 footer.
