How Good Can We Be?

Recommended Posts

This team can be really good. B1G contender and top 20 season all season. This is by far the most talented team under Crean but not sure how they will compete. The 2012-2013 team was hungry to compete and win the B1G.

Sr. Yogi >>> Fr. Yogi
JBJ >> Hulls
RoJo <<< Oladipo
Troy < CWat
Bryant << Zeller

Holt/Hartman/Perea/Z/Devin?
>> Elston/Sheehey/Abell/Hollowell

Maybe about equal? This teams floor should be a Sweet 16 and can contend as a FF team. The pieces are there.

The 2012-2013 team was Crean's best from top to bottom IMO. As long as Yogi and Troy come back, this upcoming team will be fairly close.

Don't know how Bryant can run or defend. Don't know who backs up Yogi. Don't know how our TEAM defends. And someone (who?) still has to go to make room, so depending on who that is....

Bryant gives us potential to be good; but his showing up doesn't - by itself - solve the problem. We have lots of conjecture, but we won't know until January. I would be very careful thinking this makes us a contender for a national title until we see how we look against a good team next season.

It's not like what fans think has any impact on the team's outcome. So, I'm throwing caution to the wind, and visualizing a final four at the minimum

I think this team is more talented top to bottom but that team had better fundamentals and bballIQ. This team has much more potential. That team was better defensively because they had effort, Oladipo, and team defense.

Honestly, we have enough talent to be contenders this upcoming season if Crean can put it all together. At least elite 8 should be where we aim for.

Yogi/Johnson

Blackmon/Zeisloft

Williams/Hartman

Davis/Holt

Bryant/Perea

What is the glaring weakness of that team?

Defense, if our guards and wings continue to give drivers an open lane it could lead to foul trouble for Bryant.

I think this team's ceiling is higher. I also think this team's floor is lower.

Lots of 4-5 star talent. No excuses next year. On paper I believe this is Creans most talented team. Final Four talent IMO. Biggest question is will the coaching staff figure out how to get the very best out of these guys.

Edit: Land Maker and we can start talking a little about a banner.
