The defense, especially the defensive line looked better than I expected. Seemed to always get a decent push into the backfield. Solid QB pressure as well. 10 'sacks' on the day (Since you can't hit the QBs they're ruled down if you get close to them). Darius Latham is HUGE. Must've put on 20-30 lbs since last year. Tegray was a beast as always. Fant seems to have one of the starting CB positions locked down.

Defense had a couple big hits, one fumble caused, and a highlight reel INT by Latham. Hard to tell too much by the spring practice but this defense has some playmakers now. They don't give up huge chunks of yardage and they may get some pressure on QBs this year. They may end up being middle of the pack B1G which would be a huge step up for this squad.

Both Devine Redding and Brookins (sp?) looked great at the RB spot. Both good one cut runners with decent burst, especially Devine, and good instincts. Devine looks to be a solid blocker as well.

For anyone who was worried about it Sudfeld looks fine. No rust. Good zip on the ball and solid decision making. Sud really has a handle on fade routes. Great placement on all his attempts to the end zone.

Oh and the best news of all - the WRs were CATCHING the balls thrown to them. What a revelation compared to last year. Harris and Cobbs especially had good hands.

One special teams note - RS Freshman Joseph Gedeon was BOOMING some punts. About 50 yards and nice hangtime. As I understand it he has some consistency issues but he has to have the biggest leg of all the punters on the team. Lots of potential. Keep an eye out for him.

This has me VERY EXCITED!  Can't wait for some IUFB!!!  Thanks 87!!!

Recap. There's some videos inside. Crimson wins 13-10.

Nate Sudfeld completed 17 of his 24 attempts for 187 yards with one touchdown and one interception for the Cream. Crimson running back Ricky Brookins went over the century mark with 107 yards on 16 carries, a 6.7 average.

Zander Diamont fired a pair of TD passes, including the game-winner to Damon Graham from 13 yards out with four seconds remaining. Graham caught both scores and finished with five grabs for 48 yards.

Crimson linebacker Tegray Scales led all tacklers with eight stops, while fellow Crimson linebacker Clyde Newton record five with a pair of sacks (14 yards). Cream Linebacker Robert McCray III topped his team with four tackles and two sacks (22 yards).

The defenses combined for 10 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, one fumble - forced by defensive back Kiante Walton and recovered by linebacker Dawson Fletcher, and one interception returned 16 yards by defensive lineman Darius Latham (also added a half-sack).

Defensive lineman Nick Mangieri (1.5), defensive lineman Nate Hoff (1), defensive lineman Derrian Meminger (1) and linebacker Kyle Loechel (1) combined for the remaining sacks.

Sudfeld opened the scoring with a 3-yard strike to tight end Anthony Corsaro, and the Cream took a 10-0 lead into the break after a second quarter 26-yard field goal by Aaron Del Grosso.

Diamont and Graham sliced the lead to 10-7 in the third with an 11-yard hook up before the duo's late-game heroics gave the Crimson a 3-point victory. In addition to Graham, Mitchell Paige hauled in five receptions for a game-high 96 yards.

Alex Rodriguez led the Crimson with 63 rushing yards on 12 attempts followed by Devine Redding's 57 on 13. J-Shun Harris II had five catches for 57 yards, Simmie Cobbs, Jr., contributed four for 34 and Ricky Jones collected three for 33.
