We used to follow the Iditarod every year when we were kids, can't remember why.

We followed it in one of my classes when I was in junior high. We did a big project on it and everything and it was really interesting. Different breed, those Alaskans.

It is awesome! Not as hard core like the yukon quest but still awesome. I will get some photos when I get the chance. It is supposed to be 20 below here tonight so I will do it tomorrow

Zirkle is now in 3rd at the Tanana check point. I think she is 1 hour and 30 min behind the leader Buser.

What has happened to Dallas Seavey? Too much time on Ultimate Survivor Alaska? I like Dallas. Seems like he has a burning desire to win.

Dallas is a competitor for sure. I'm not sure why he is hanging back like that. Believe it or not, there is alot of strategy in the mushing competitions. When to stop, how much they sleep, when to take leads at which part of the race, etc. It's all voodoo math to me but Lance Mackey is a strategy savant. He finds a way to win all the time, if you get a chance...check out his book. He is quite an extraordinary individual. Except all of the dope smoking. I know him as an acquaintance.

Thanks DJ. But her being in first is deceiving. Bussey had to take the mandatory 8 hour stop. So, he will probably retake the lead
