(2016) QB Peyton Ramsey to IU

Recommended Posts

@MikeDyer: @Mark__Porter discusses Peyton Ramsey's commitment to #Indiana. http://www.cincinnati.com/story/blogs/2015/04/21/elder-2016-qb-peyton-ramsey-verbally-commits-to-indiana/26156883/ … @ElderHighSchool @ehsports @IUBloomington

Elder 2016 QB Peyton Ramsey verbally committed to Indiana Tuesday night and ScoutingOhio.com director Mark Porter says he wouldn't be surprised to see him on the field early for the Hoosiers.

Ramsey also had offers that included UC, Boston College, Wake Forest, Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, Ohio University and Miami University.

He was the GCL South co-player of the year in 2014. He threw for 2,062 yards and 13 touchdowns. He rushed for 908 yards and 12 touchdowns.

"Peyton Ramsey has the skills to be the top QB prospect in Ohio with his combination of drop back passing skills and athletic ability," Porter said. "Ramsey is a much better athlete than given credit for and Indiana identified this making him a great fit in their spread attack. Ramsey has the football IQ to beat you before the snap and the competitive nature to beat you after the snap."

Ramsey was AP Division I special mention all-state.

Ramsey is the fifth area player in the 2016 class to make a verbal college commitment.

"I would not be surprised to see him on the field early because of his work ethic and football savvy," Porter said.

Elder opens the season Aug. 28 against Oak Hills at The Pit (7 p.m. kickoff).

Judging by his first name he should be a good quarterback.
