Indiana vs Ohio State - Post Game Thread

Recommended Posts

I just realized something... Obviously we struggle with guarding talented and dynamic scorers like Russell right? Well... we happen to have several on our team.. Yogi/JBJ/Troy... what that tells me is we aren't emphasizing defense enough during scrims/practices, our team is just lazy on D, or they just flat out can't play defense ala James Harden lol.

Indiana guard Robert Johnson suffered a knee injury in the loss to Ohio State after slipping on some sheets of paper near the Buckeyes' cheerleaders under the basket. On Monday, Tom Crean said the injury is not expected to be "long lasting" but could keep Johnson out of the game against Purdue on Wednesday.

Johnson has been a starter in the backcourt with Yogi Ferrell for most of the year. The talented freshman guard is currently averaging 9.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Mike Miller, of the Herald Times, posted a shot Johnson landing awkwardly under the basket.

"A red folder or papers that were laying close enough to the court, that he slipped on," Crean explained on Monday's Big Ten teleconference. "They were just laying there, when he finished his layup."

After getting fitted with a knee brace at halftime, Johnson returned to the game and logged nine minutes in the second half. Crean said the team will monitor Johnson's injury in the coming days before making a decision regarding his status for Wednesday.

"I think the best news for Robert is he went back in the game, and now we have to monitor it in a very close way and hope that it doesn't linger," Crean said via the Indy Star. "We'll just kind of go, see what happens at the end of the day, and see how he feels."

If Johnson is sidelined, transfer guard Nick Zeisloft will likely take his place in the starting lineup.

Indiana and Purdue have a 9 p.m. ET tip-off time Wednesday in West Lafayette.

Boo hoo. Nat'l Weather Service has my area at a 70% chance of getting over 18 inches, with the likely total being 29".

Oh yeah, Iniana deserved their name today.

Where is Iniana?
