Georgetown will be one of our toughest games.

Recommended Posts

There is absolutely no question, that they will deploy a 2-3 zone the entire game. The good news is, we can shoot over it. They will most likely try to slow the tempo down and protect Smith in the middle. The more he plays, the better chance they win. It will be hard to get to the FT line against their 2-3. I imagine that Crean will also counter with a 2-3 zone defense. Georgetown seems more comfortable in the paint and their Princeton sets don't work as well against a well communicated zone. The key for me is defensive rebounding. It will allow us to get out in transition. Offensive rebounding chances will give us an opportunity to draw some fouls in the paint. Im concerned about Georgetown. They have some size and all of their players are real brute, and tough players. They look like a nice team this year that is well coached.

Rob has several family members in NY for the game tmrw and I'm sure others do as well. Also rob and Collin are roomies at the hotel. Should be a really great game and I bet a lot of the guys are looking for a win in MSG, especially after the loss the last time they were in town.

A win in NYC against an east coast team could really give recruiting a boost since Coach Martin's so heavily involved there.

Kids don't know or care about our past but kick some tail in their back yard and they'll take notice.

I believe a win against Syracuse in our last game would've changed those dynamics drastically in a positive way.

Go Hoosiers beat Hoyas!

This game will be a legit test against a tournament quality team on a "neutral" court. I hope we travel well.

If we sneak a win, at 11-2, we've exceeded my preseason expectations.

If we lose, at 10-3, it was my exact prediction including the UL and GU losses. I also predicted the third to be a surprise loss.

I fear this game and hope we come to battle. Don't give up the easy bunnies and we can win.
