And let the hire Muschamp threads commence......

Not me, he is cut from the same cloth as Jimbo Fisher. As much as I like winning, I would rather have a program led by a coach who will instill discipline and demonstrate to the players there are consequences for terrible behavior and not being an enabler and rewarding bad behavior.

I dunno, we've done discipline and consequences for the last 21 years and it hasn't really worked out for the program. Maybe, it'd be cool to see what a winning record looks like.

Yeah IF we were to make a change I would favor the highly successful MAC level coach or a sweater wearing guy with a manageable (hopefully) show cause thing.

The MAC level guys would recruit about the same level just up a little notch.

The sweater guy is said to like red.

Preference on a guy like Dino would be for him to have been a HC somewhere longer but man he has had two quick turn arounds already

Yeah I followed that EIU team pretty closely and I loved what he did there. It was fun to watch. Came from a good staff at Baylor.

Show causes are always tough, and he still has like 3 years left on it. But, if he were interested I'd jump all over it. I'd accept a successful MAC though.

Wouldn't mind bringing Tony Dungy back to Indiana.

I literally can't imagine a world where Tony Dungy comes to be our HC. Like, I know the infinite universes theory says that that world exists, but I can't picture it.

That theory is pretty trippy...

They are pretty recent things aren't they? Show Cause issues.

I thought some other coach was recently hired who still had some show cause time left but cannot remember who.

Wasn't it Bruce Pearl?

It was. And I feel they only got away with it because he only had two months or so left in his period and they kept him away from all recruits.

I mean, Tressel is a pipe dream anyway. I like him because he's a great coach who had enough of a fall from grace to accept a job like this. It's like picking up a girl out of your league who just got hella dumped. He has said his coaching days are over, and as far as I know he's never expressed interest in coaching here. Though, Youngstown students are pretty unhappy with him as President so who knows?

We could do much worse than Muschamp...OSU's not doing so bad with an ex-Florida guy (of course he went on his own terms). But if we really want a fantastic SEC ex-coach, I suspect Mark Richt will be available at the end of Georgia's season. With his star running back going down with a torn ACL, Georgia (already with two losses including one to Muschamp) is likely to lose to Georgia Tech, which will be enough to send the Bulldawg lovers into a firing-frenzy orbit.

Richt is a class act and knows his stuff. He's had Georgia in the SEC mix EVERY YEAR. When's the last time we were in the Big Ten mix for any number of consecutive years?

They just pounded Auburn and still have a good shot to win the SEC East. Without Gurley for a solid chunk of the year too. I don't see Richt going anywhere this offseason.
