This UConn team is much more similar to their 22-23 team than the dominant 23-24 one.

Talented but with clear weaknesses... Perimeter defense. Ability to penetrate. Big man depth/talent.

They have a bunch of new guys and took lumps in Maui as they figure out their roles and identities.

Good win for them vs. Baylor but clear they still have a long way to go. 22-23 team got it figured out around January IIRC.

Tarris Reed played at Michigan last year... he was a nice player on a terrible team, able to play a ton.

In 7 less mins per game, he's averaging 2 more points, 2 more rebounds and 26% better FG%, 12% better FT%.

UConn fans would like to see more of him and Jaylin Stewart, less of Samson Johnson. I think that'd be smart.

But Hurley knows what he is doing. The talent level is arguably higher than the 22-23 team.

They definitely could lose. But they could also 3-peat... IMO. Not sure if that's a hot take or not.

Robert Wright on Baylor is a complete stud by the way.

I wish we had a Nate Oats type coach.  Fun offense. Some grit. Some cool factor.  Lots of talent.  Seems like he’ll be a top 10 type guy until he says otherwise.

At this point I’d settle for somebody who wants to actually be the coach at IU and all that comes with it  Last person who did was Crean
