A final payday before retiring would be my guess.

I looked into this earlier and his salary appears to have gone from 250k at TSU to ~400k at DM. That doesn't seem like an obvious move to me when DM is seemingly a far worse job considering TSU hasn't really stopped going to the tournament since he left after his 4 appearances.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Like most people making $250k, they would change employers in a heartbeat for an 80% pay raise for basically similar work.

For a worse job, after already making well into six figures for about 20 years? Maybe Texas Southern was maxed out on what they could give him, but he had a good thing going there with 4 tournaments in 6 years and the grass obviously wasn't greener in Detroit.

I know very little about either school, so maybe TSU is a hole (and as an HBCU, that would unfortunately not be surprising), but it appears on the surface to be a better job.

Detroit Mercy is shooting 27.2% from three.  That makes them the better shooting perimeter team in this matchup....

IUPUI is shooting 24.6% from three -- making just 90 of 366 threes in 26 games.  For comparison, IU has made 32 more threes than IUPUI on just 6 less attempts.

Down 10 in the 2nd half is more like going to disaster's hotel room.

I know I’m a gigantic homer, but I haven’t felt super uncomfortable yet. Their hot streaks are devastating.

Kent going down is a major development though.
