How's Crean Feel?

All of Indiana is under distraught after the recent mishaps taken place by current IU basketball players. Is Crean to blame? Or is this just a simple act of stupidity and maturity? Do you think Crean feels some pressure from all this "hooplah"? People say Crean is "not a leader" or "has no discipline". Former players see it differently. Such as Victor Oladipo. Former Indiana stand out says "Us former players would not come back as often as we do if that was the case". He later went on to state "Coach Crean is a great coach and human being. The players currently there just need to get there priorities right and realize they are playing for something way bigger than themselves". Thought on how you think Crean might feel after all the sudden criticism?

In a way I feel sorry for him with the spoiled mama's kids these days that are also "handed" their candy stripes and "handed" full-ride scholarships.

Makes you wonder how candy stripes and scholarships were given out in the '70s.  Was there a different transmission process back then?

Not a player's perspective of course, however the expectations were more than well known if you were lucky enough to take the  floor at assembly hall.

 

 There was a hunger to play at IU, a privilege to be recruited, a deep sense of gratiude for the honor to bust your butt and oh by the way, the fear of God if you screwed up while wearing the cream and crimson for Coach Knight.

Exactly, the way I remember it, there's never been a guy sitting on the bench in shorts because he hadn't earned his candy Stripes yet.

 

The new tradition is having a former player pass them down at Hoosier Hysteria rather than it being piled in your chair with the rest of your uni, but it's always been given before the effort.

I don't know how Crean feels---but if I were him I would be furious.  He did it right by making sure DD was OK first. But the next thing he needs to do is bring the hammer down and put the fear of God into some players. They have earned serious punishment and some of them who are repeaters should be told they will be shown the door if there are further violations.
