Ehhh I've never been a huge fan of Greenberg. I can't stand listening to him on ESPN. He was decent at Va Tech a couple times but lets face it no one will be happy with every candidate so at this point I would be open to it.

What's his connection to IU? I feel as though the next replacement needs to be connected to the program as a "quick win" replacement. Give the long time fans an old favorite to get behind and start donating to again.

I mean it was Virginia Tech but he never really did much there. Feel like that wouldn't really be a move that gets us much, if any, closer to a championship than we ever were with Crean.

I agree. I was just saying donations aren't currently an issue. I know the fanbase is pretty split over whether a new coach would need to be an IU guy or not. I really don't care either way if the guy can coach. I've always liked Greenberg personally. No off the court issues that I'm aware of and his Va Tech firing was extremely random. It came off of a .500ish season after 4/5 20 win seasons with the other being 19 wins.

Biggest MUSTs for my sanity on next coach.

1. Keep Yogi, Rob Johnson, Blackmon, Juwan Morgan and the rest of the core that are behaving themselves. I'd love that Troy and Hanner can straighten themselves out. Keep enough so it's not a FULL rebuild.

2. A great REACTIONARY in game coach.

3. Represent high character program/staff/players

4. I LOVE my recruiting, so I'd love to get a great recruiter but not at the sacrifice of Morals.

5. And be Brad Stevens!!!!!!! Lol. Just Kidding, kind of. Not sure who our options will be but am very curious.

If the next coach needs the immediate support of the fan base and the donors, does that pretty much narrow it down to Stevens or a former IU player? If so, I think that would limit us too much.

 

Greenberg would be okay but I don't think it's a hire that would excite people.

YEah he runs a great program and gets a lot out of the players he has. 
Same with John Groce at Illinois. He doesn't put up with players crap and recruits great talent
