Big win last night for the Rockets in Houston over LeBron and the Cavs 117 - 113.   Harden with 35 and Gordon with 20 were the Rockets 2 leading scorers.   For the game, the Cavs shot 55.6% from the field and 44% on 3's, not exactly chopped liver and stats you'd think would typically be good for a win.  The Rockets only shot 47% from the field and only 35% on 3's, but they hoisted up 19 more 3 -point attempts than the Cavs.  The Rockets were also 29-36 on FT's to only 11-14 for the Cavs.

Clarification for my "oops" from yesterday.  NBA teams can dress 12 players, i.e., designated as active.  They can also designate as inactive up to 3 additional players.  The inactives typically are players out with minor day-to-day injuries or players designated for the G-league, i.e., Thomas Bryant.  So although the LA Lakers recalled Bryant from G-League, he can continue to play in G-League games as long as he's on the Laker's inactive list.

The Nets and Knicks have also beat the Cavs. Its not really a big win these days, haha.

In the head to head match-up of Oladipo and Gordon, Vic won the scoring but the Rockets won the game.  Good game from Yogi in a losing effort.

OG with his first NBA start against the Rockets in Houston and Toronto comes away with the win and a strong performance by OG as a starter.  On the flip side, EG had one of those shooting nights he'll want to quickly forget.  Likewise a tough night for Yogi going scoreless in 33 minutes of play.

The Sixers will never be any good. Better chance of PG staying in Indy than the Sixers doing anything.

We look pretty good right now. People keep praying our guys don't stay healthy cause that is the only chance we don't compete for a title in a couple years. RoCo's injury was minor just like a normal one and Simmons has no lingering effects at all. Any guy can get hurt and yes Embiid worries me but when healthy he is one of the best bigs in the league. Plenty of other guys to mention that still have room to grow and if Fultz even becomes half of what his potential is then I am fine with that. Still a long year, but if you still think I'm crazy as some said in the Summer just wait till we use some cap space next summer and potentially add the Lakers pick.

The chances of PG staying in Indy obviously weren't very good btw.

When I put together my daily summaries, I don't pay a lot of attention to the actual games but just on how our guys did.  I had noticed that the Rockets had beaten Phoenix 142-116 but other than looking for Gordon's stats that was it.  I've since learned the Rockets scored 90 points, yes 90, in just the first half!  45 in each of the first 2 quarters and Harden had 33 at halftime!   He finished with 48 and was a perfect 18 for 18 at the stripe.

And as for the Celtics winning 14 in a row and doing it without Gordon Hayward.  Pretty amazing.

Could you imagine scoring 65 points in one half and still being down 25 points !

BIg night for Vic with a double-double and a Pacer win over the Pistons coming back from a double digit deficit.  Alas poor Yogi, we knew him well; gonna be a looooooong season for the Mavs.  JBJ's best G-League game to date with 20 pts. and 8 reb.
