When Will Bob Knight/IU Patch Things Up

Recommended Posts

Good post Alaska drunk or not. I hope to make it up there in the future!

Tonight, i have to tell you folks....I went to my local hangout here in Alaska. Low and behold, a fellow Hoosier shows up behind me in line for beers...He and his brother are visiting because it is cheaper to fly in the winter....anyhow, It was so nice to talk Indiana basketball with someone and to talk about AJ and RMK and all of you here on Btown banners. After a few beers, i'm almost in tears thinking of AJ and how proud I am and how wonderful it is to understand how important IU basketball is.. This has been a tumultuous week for all of us. I just want to wish Mr. Guyton a wonderful weekend and i still have hope that RMK will show up for his sake.

In conclusion, i'm drunk and i love all you guys! God bless A.J., RMK, all of you Hoosiers and I.U.!
Never daunted, we shall not falter, in the battle were tried and true![/quote]

Frankly, I could care less. Knight is a bitter old man who will probably die alone in his misery.

He was great for IU and did an lot of good for both the basketball program and the school. Those accomplishments should not go unnoticed or untrumpeted. They have been neither.

The university, and the athletic department, as well as a plethora of former players, have invited, asked, begged and pleaded for him to return. I say enough is enough. Everyone should stop trying to kiss his arse to get him to return. Should he choose to return someday, they should and will welcome him with marching bands, fanfare and open arms.

Until he does (IF he does), just move on and let him go pound sand.

Yeah, I really loved the guy for years....IU basketball for me as a kid was Bob Knight....still support 99% of everything the guy has done...Hell, I had the Bob Knight porcelain doll for the love of pete! I just think the bitter act is wearing thin on me...enough time has passed, I believe he should be over it but obviously he does not and ultimately that is what counts....If he decides to come back, full on fanfare, celebration, elation etc should be in order...if not, then that will be unfortunate for him and he will probably regret it on his death bed...
