Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 27 Posted February 27 (edited) I'm gonna go out on a limb and declare today's second game a win. We led 8-1 after 6 complete and have scored 7 more in our 7th. Aubree Hooks pitched 4.2 innings giving up 3 hits, 1 BB and Elon's lone run. Ella Troutt has pitched 1.1 innings of no-hit ball. Aly VanBrandt has had an unbelievable day. 2 HRs in this Elon game with 7 RBIs. Women have pounded out 12 hits and still batting in the 7th with the bases loaded. FINAL SCORE 20-1. Jasmine Reyes pitched 4 innings of 2-hit ball with 2 BB. Megan Gregory closed it out. 10-hits for the Hoosiers with Cooper and Gavin 2 each. 1 of Cooper's and both of Gavin's were HRs. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Our women show absolutely no mercy. 11-0 win over UNC Greensboro. Taylor Hess pitched the full 7 innings scattered 6 hits and walked just 1. She's 4-0 on the season. We had 9 hits that included an Aly VanBrandt grand slam HR and she finished the day with 5 RBI. Alex Cooper had 3 RBI. Re-match with UNCG at 11:00 tomorrow to wrap up the weekend. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 1 Posted March 1 What a weekend for our softball team winning all 5 games. Today was a 10-1 run-shortened win over UNCG. Ella Troutt pitched 4 innings of 3-hit ball and Brooke Mannon pitched the final inning. We had 11 hits with 4 girls having 2 apiece. Ellie Goins had 3 RBI; Josie Bird and Hannah Haberstroh each with 2. In the 5 games, we scored 59 runs; our opponents scored 3. No mid-week game. Conference play starts next weekend in Bloomington hosting Minnesota who's 7-13 on the season. Quote

Aaron Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Now this is a program with a culture and Shonda Stanton deserves huge props for reloading after so much personnel loss. Won 6-4 to take the series over Minnesota. Pitching is always so-so but she has built an offense and program with a winning identity that uses the long ball to an elite level. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Women trailed 4-0 after 2 innings and then scored 3 in the 3rd, 3 more in the 4th, 6 in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th and finished with a 14-6 win. Reyes had a rough start and gave up Loyola's first 4 runs. We finished with 12 hits. VanBrandt went 4-5 with 3 HR and 7 RBI. Bird had 3 RBI.
