Unfortunately, we could start 0-3. Hopefully this is not the case. Maybe this year we can use the last six games to gain momentum for the tournament.

@KevinPauga: The first play date in college basketball is Nov 14 this year, making the calendar a week shorter to schedule the non-conference games.

Not sure what this means big picture. Us more than likely filling our last spots with awful teams?

Here's a great breakdown of the roster changes for all the B1G teams this year. It may come as a shock to some of you, but we aren't even the most turbulent team this year. It almost appears as though our transfer "issue" is the norm (gasp).

Yeah, i was pretty shocked at the other school's transfer rates.. I mean, we only had 3 transfers, well actually 4.  seems like they forgot about Luke on that list.  Anyways, I'd rather have a transfer than a dismissal any year.

Call me NEW school! Call me Crazy, but I don't mind the transfer for playing time trend in NCAA. I think all parties benefit. I DO think they should be more strict about sitting out a year.

My second thought isn't probably fair, but I care less about the Down-Transfers (Indiana to East Tennessee St for example) playing immediately than the UP-Transfers (Viginia Tech to Ohio St or whatever).

The Up-Transfers are doing it strictly by choice and I feel they deserve the 1 year wait penalty, whereas the Down-Transfers may feel that's their only choice for PT or may be "forced out" thus them playing immediately doesn't really bother me.

The last group is the lateral transfers (Abel, Patterson, Fischer). They should sit a year.

Thoughts?

Would be difficult to judge what was an upward movement versus downward movement. I think one way to more accurately apply your rule would be based on playing time at the school the player is transferring from. Have some base line such as 25% of the average MPG in the NCAA. Anyone transferring to a school under that base line can play right away. That definitely isn't a perfect system, but just a thought.

Yeah that could be an option.

I haven't thought of all scenarios but PT could be a determining factor to consider.

Others are obvious when it's a high major to a mid major or vice versa.

hooray for another out of conference slate that by and large will allow our young players to develop horrible tendencies and ultimately render us incapable of protecting the ball against legitimate competition in B1G play
