Canadian Trip Stat Leaders Game 1

Recommended Posts

obviously, we are all having a blast here getting some Hoosier action in the summer and can't even put too much into the positives but we will take anything at this point.

I feel the best stat of the night is DD's (not Devin Dumes) 16 rebounds. They were undersized but so is Devin honestly. Even so, 16 rebounds is a lot and shows it was his top priority for the night. Good job Devin! Way to tap into your inner Vonleh and Rodman. That needs to be his forte all season.. junk yard dog!

Also ready to learn more about what Z has to offer! I don't know hardly anything about him but I know every team needs that guy (Roth, healthy Etherington, Stemler, etc.)

So....when's the next game?

Game 2: August 10, IU vs. Ottawa University, at Champlain College, 7 p.m.
Game 3: August 11, IU at Carleton University, 6 p.m.
Game 4: August 12, IU at McGill, 7 p.m.
Game 5: August 13, IU at University of Quebec at Montreal, 1 p.m.

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Things I like about this stat sheet:

- Look at who took 3pt attempts. It was only the guys who should be taking them.
- Turnovers by key players are very low. 2 by Yogi is what I like to see.
- 16 boards by DD
Check out the video I just posted. I was watching an entirely different Troy Williams from a year ago. It was beautiful. And Jimbo's shot is pure Asian Silk ( even though none went in).

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Thanks, I didn't see that. Can't wait to watch.

More importantly, I need to go clean my shorts. Troy Williams looks phenomenal. That turnaround 15 footer
the one thing I see as everyone has also see, my son needs to work on his turnovers. 5 is TOO MANY. But the way I look at it, Troy is an ENERGETIC GUY, he flys, he runs, he leaps, he shows up from the rear and you don't see him coming so with all that said, he is moving so fast he is bound to jaw turnovers. So if Troy can cut them down to maybe 3 or 4 at the most a game, without slowing him down, I'm for it. What do you all think? IJS because I've been watching him play since he was 4 years old, but at almost 20 years old, what do you all think?

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
His playing style definitely makes him prone to turnovers. We'll see after a few more games if he's improved in that area, but if his playing style leads to the kind of production he had last night, his turnovers become slightly less worrisome. That being said, I hope he values the ball more this year and averages no more than 3-4 as you said.

I think that Troy is the type of player that needs to play to his strengths; athleticism and high motor. With those strengths naturally comes a higher number of turnovers. With age, experience, and court time, those turnovers will automatically and gradually come down, just like they gradually did during his freshman year. He is a player that obviously buys into the coaching and training staff; those are the players that correct and improve upon their deficiencies.

One other thought: Troy is currently a potential game changer on the offensive end; for him to reach his potential, he has to make some real impact on the defensive end. He's too talented not to.
