Crean $20,000 for perfect academic progress rate

Recommended Posts

I just figured his hands will be raw by the time he's 50. Maybe some hand lotion and quality leather belts.

Quality posting. I think I saw the same thing on every Purdue message board ever. This thread is lame. It's about the success of our student athletes but you knuckleheads can only focus that Crean got a bonus. It's in his contract. Always has been. I'm mad as hell about last season, but this Crean circlejerk is a revolving door. Same responses, same criticisms, same lame jokes. You can bash your fingers all day on a keyboard about Crean and his shortcomings as our coach. I have done so in the past. But as a fanbase we cannot go back to whence we came: bitter, tired, and callous. No doubt this past season was a nightmare and the offseason hasn't been much of a party either. But this lame crap does nothing for the future and says nothing about the past. We have a long offseason with a lot of doubt. Let's not spend it regurgitating the same quips over and over and over. That sort of thing has literally ruined message boards. Go Hoosiers

Sorry my posts aren't quality enough for you, bro. I should've been thinking about what people would think of them. Pfft...Geez.. My jokes about Crean aren't going to affect the offseason or anything even closely associated to next season. I wouldn't be making fun of him if I didn't like him. Just one more.. Could you imagine if Assembly Hall had "the clapper" installed through the lights? People'd be havin epileptic seizures 30 seconds into the game.

Your jokes are somehow getting lamer. Quit while you're behind. You're not even remotely amusing, just really sad

I wouldn't get too excited over this award/reward. Most of the players getting the bulk of the minutes are majoring in "Recreation Sports Management" (basically, they can be in charge of recess when they graduate). The walk-ons along with a few scholarship players have a bit more complicated majors. Ethrington got his degree early, Fagan made it into med. school, Hartman a business major etc. So most of these kids have to show up for class and everything is good. This makes it much harder for the kids who are taking real classes because they can't spend as much time in the gym. They actually have to study.

Doesn't change the fact that we are only B1G school to get a perfect score 4 years in a row.

I don't care what field of study, a Master's program requires time and effort. There are many other examples as well, but it is true a lot take a relaxed major to focus more on basketball. Regardless, Crean is running a better academic portion of his program than any other school in the B1G, and one of the best in the country.

What exactly is wrong with Sports Management or Therapy? None of the people I know who graduated in either of those majors "work at recess" and make a good living. I've taken business classes at IU where all you had to do was show up and you got an A and I took HPER classes that were extremely difficult to the point I found myself studying for those midterms and finals more than my core major classes. Get off your high horse pal.

What's sad is people like you in this world not being able to take a joke. I know you're in love with Tom Crean and everything, but be more light hearted. You're going to have a stroke.

I don't think it has anything to do with Tom Crean and has everything to do with your jokes not being funny. It could be any coach in the country and a joke about them clapping on the sideline would not be funny.

The clapping stuff has been thoroughly run into the ground. And if repeating one liners about a coach pulling up hs pants or clapping 7 years into his tenure is your opinion of high comedy, well...

Admins, I think we need a thread with the sole purpose of Crean bashing. Anytime it's brought up, we send it that way.

Indiana is a great school academically, the APR progress we've made makes me so incredibly happy.  Most athletes don't/can't go play professional, and if they do get that chance, they most likely won't last half a dozen seasons (I think the average time in NBA is 3 years?).  These kids need good education, just like I got when I attended.  So impressed that they made it a priority and got us back on track academically.

Lol. You really have no idea what that major entails, do you?
