Thoughts on Donald Sterling's Lifetime NBA Ban?

Wow. Didn't know that. I would have to agree then, that he wouldn't have done this much.

I agree that it would've been wrong on all accounts. But I'm not convinced Stern wouldn't have found an alternative. I think he would've given a much larger fine and given the players the option of abandoning their contracts. Or something to that degree.

Silver said the maximum fine they are allowed to give was 2.5 million.

In the recordings, it was Sterling that was making the racist remarks, but it was still him and Stern discussing the stuff together.

I see. I didn't watch the press conference or anything so I missed that. Still don't think Stern would've banned him though.

Swift, just, respectable. Good work.

Not trying to argue or say you're wrong, but just curious what you think he would have done? I don't think anything less would have settled this.

I just don't know if would have handled this as well as Silver did. He may of ultimately been forced to do what Silver did, but I think it would've been a long, drawn out process at best. I'm not a fan of David Stern if you can't tell.

You don't seem to be the most positive-thinking person on this board.

I can tell.

First Sterling is 80 ..he will never enjoy the billions. If he is that racist ..he really doesn't care. This is like a funeral...the decisions made are for those who are living with racism and putting it to death, and supporting the majority of the NBA who were offended. Mark Cuban stated he (Sterling ) should not be made to sell, opens all kinds of new problems for people like him.
