The 2015 Recruiting Class

Recommended Posts

This post makes me realize that if Crean pulls it together he better do it for two straight years. I don't want to fire him in 2016 and lose all those wonderful wonderful kids. That class is stacked. Back on topic. You think a four man class in 2015? Where do we find the roster spots? Oh I misread that. I'm doing terribly tonight. I'm leaving up this mess of a post and stepping away for a bit.

I'd love to see Crean still get Crawford to prove that while KJ is a great recruiter, Crawford has wanted to play for Crean and Indiana. I know assistant coaches can build super strong relationships with kids, but this program should still have major pull.

Looks like Zimmerman is still very much on the table. Pretty interesting that we're still in it seeing as there has not been much talk of us. Maybe he's really buying in hard that he could be a better Zeller playing in his true position.

Just because we're in his final 8 doesn't mean we're still in it. Let's see where he takes his 5 OVs, then we can discuss this.

That's true, but what's the point of including Indiana in his final 8 if he's not considering the Hoosiers at all? I could see a hometown school getting included as a courtesy or something, but why would he include Indiana for the hell of it?

You're right that the teams that get the OVs are the real contenders, but you certainly can't count out Indiana yet.

I'm just saying. Most kids put out a top 8, 10, etc. all for show. Just saying it doesn't mean as much as the OVs will. We have hope, but no need to get too excited.

Oh for sure... nothing to get overly excited about. But certainly helps to squash the "he's eliminated Indiana" nonsense.

No I don't think at all he's eliminated us. I just really don't think being in someone's "top 8" is all that big of a deal. These kids love the attention.

Time for Crean to start throwing everything we've got at him.

I personally feel like they have a top 3 or maybe 5. They include the other 3 or 5 to include the schools that: A: Have crazy passionate fans that interact with the recruit on Twitter B: have been showing a lot of interest in the recruit and they don't want to let them down by not being in top 5. C: They like attention, a Top 8 keeps them relevant amongst a lot of basketball discussion. I feel like IU in the top 8 is simply out of respect for Indiana & Crean's effort to recruit him. Would be shocked if we got an official.
