Indiana Rivals predicts us to finish 9th next season

Recommended Posts

I think its a far assessment of where our program is and was last year. We lose a lottery player and don't pick another up and now trying to add 3ppg 5 th year players. The B1G is improving with young coaches like Pitino, Collins, and Miles to go along nicely with Wis, Mich St, Mich, OSU and Iowa. It may be generous.

Hopefully more press outlets predict such a dire 2014-15 forecast. Our kids can use it as extra fuel to prove work hard and prove everyone wrong. I'm still excited for next season, I will never lose my preseason buzz.

Hope springs eternal, my friend.

I don't recall us being projected very high in the year of the Wat shot to beat Kentucky. That was truly a turning point for that team. I am not a fan of Crean's game coaching, but the one thing that he has proven, to me anyway, is that he can develop players. I expect to see a HUGE jump in all the players next year, especially Perea. I just think that kid is too talented not to be a factor. He has a huge upside with his wingspan, and honestly, is not a bad offensive player as well. Just really needs to work on his defense.

If Perea doesn't improve drastically and we don't land a solid big man, it's going to be a rough year. But I'm optimistic. You can't be that freakishly athletic and not improve. Right?

We shouldn't question his ability to develop guards and wings.  It is fair to question the staff's ability to develop a big, and Hanner has been underwhelming.
