Fran McCaffery, Iowa basketball coaches son, Patrick age 13, was recently diagnosed with cancer. He was treated to signed jerseys from Vic, Cody, Wade courtesy Coach Crean.
Please say your prayers for Patrick, he will have his thyroid taken out April 17th.

Very classy. We may argue the merits on the court but there is no doubt that he's a great guy. Thoughts out to the child.

Heard this during the First Four game. Coach McCaffery certainly had a long day that day, being there for his son's surgery then having to fly to Dayton for the game. Definitely a great gesture from Coach Crean, Cody & Victor!

To add to this Chris Paul has taken to this kid and has called him before and after the surgery. Just after the first surgery he set him up with a trip to Minnesota to see them play the clippers.

I have had some personal issues, and my uncle wrote to Coach Crean. He got Vic to send me a note. I don't care who I offend, I'll always be a Crean fan.

That's awesome man.  Crean just get's 'it'.  No one can pinpoint what 'it' is...but he has it.  I too will always be a Crean fan and root for his teams to do well (hopefully he'll rattle off a few national championships and will always be here!  lol  Then I won't have to root for him at a different school).
