Albers: Per a source, Jeremy Hollowell plans to meet with coaching staff today to let them know he will seek a transfer. #iubb

Expected that since the day he was benched. It's official now. The Movement is now only Yogi Ferrell. The group that was supposed to save IU basketball is now a one man show. Let the punches continue to roll

I think with these guys leaving we will still be good. Weve got two great players coming in, we just REALLY need a big man. Like ive said before I dont think JBJ will be the complete answer, but he will be a huge factor

Whether that means to ask for his release or not I don't think any of us know.

True and at this point I'm not sure how much I trust Albers. Take whatever is being reported as a grain of salt, everybody. When it's official, either way, we will all know.

ya idk hell most likely be gone.

Even though this is absolutely in no way official, im seeing others talk of either robinson or williams leaving too......its all hearsay though lol, because when it comes to IU basketball the whole fan base gets hunches and thinks its the end of the world, because we all know somebody, that knows somebody, that had a cousin who dated a towel boy...........

I was more referring to his bonehead mistakes and then shrugging his shoulders or looking lethargic. His body language reflected his play

That wasn't directed at you. That was more directed at the people who act like him not showing emotion on the court was a detriment to his play. Or that it meant he didn't care. Some people aren't emotional players, not everyone is going to be like Vic, which seems to be some of the issue, people want the guy who is going to yell and scream on the court.

Honestly this is a pet peeve of mine, it started with Watford when people were talking about how he didn't actually care because he didn't look like it on the outside.

I totally agree with you on the comment about Watford, he looked blazed out of his mind every game lol, but youre also right about JH, and other players who dont show a ton of emotion.

I hope no one is next and I wish AE would reconsider. We sure could have used Luke Fischer when Vonley went down and we could sure use him now. You just never know what will happen throughout the season.

Sure, maybe. But, perhaps it needs to be addressed just why and how Hollowell became dead weight. And why and how Etherington became dead weight. And Creek. And Abell.

Individually, there isn't great reason to care why any of those guys left. Taken collectively as a whole, the trend hurts us and it will continue to hurt us unless it is reversed. Let's say that Crean gets what appears to be his wish and we get Lee, Cunningham and Maten for next season. We would anticipate having one open scholarship for 2015, perhaps two if Yogi develops enough to go pro. That would be a very small class unless other players are pushed out to free up more scholarships. In a couple of years, we would yet again be talking about a lack of experience and needing to balance out recruiting classes.

I guess part of crafting a proper prespective would involve looking at other high major programs and seeing what their transfer rate for bench warmers/role players is. I think it's not overly presumptuous to say that Etherington was never brought to be a starter, however he may have decided he wanted the opportunity to do so at a smaller program. As for the rest, we can all come up with a litany of reasons but ultimately the fact that these are young men who have, likely, always been the best in their respective fish-bowls are suddenly being asked to sit can be jarring. Hopefully Crean can recruit players who understand that their best path to the court is effort but that, ultimately, talent might win out.

Looking forward to the next few years, the best course of action is probably adding 2 graduate transfers or just leaving a scholarship vacant. We need to bring it at least 2 players a year, with at least 1 being a 3-4 year player, to ensure that we have continuity and maintain a positive culture.

Does anyone have any further information regarding players seeking graduate transfer exemption?
