OT: Brenton Scott Arrested While W/Alex Etherington

Recommended Posts

PU Bryson Scott's twin brother Brenton arrested for OWI while in car with a buzzed Alex Etherington.

The funny part (if there could be one in an OWI situation)?

Brenton tries to convince the cops that he's Bryson!!

Talk about throwing your brother under the bus:

"One deputy’s report says the officer smelled marijuana coming from inside the car. Police say Brenton Scott verbally identified himself as “Bryson Scott,” and provided documentation saying so. Bryson Scott, Brenton’s twin brother, plays men’s basketball at Purdue University.

“’That’s Brenton, errr [sic] I mean Brenton’s brother,’” Etherington was quoted by a Vigo County Sheriff’s Department deputy when asked who the driver was. Ethering later said Brenton Scott asked Etherington to tell police Brenton Scott was Bryson Scott.

A run of Brenton Scott’s driving record at the scene showed his driver’s license had been suspended for previous infractions, according to police.

Brenton Scott told police that he and Etherington smoked marijuana “an hour or two” prior. Brenton Scott also admitted to having marijuana under the driver’s seat, the report says."

Lol I wouldn't be happy, but being thrown under the bus by your twin brother would be enough to get anybody in a fight.

Ouch.  I know Bryson does his own fair share of things, but he hasn't thrown his twin under the bus yet to the police.  Man, that will be the talk of Fort Wayne tomorrow.  Can't wait to go to work with that little nugget.

I'm not one to soap box about underage drinking but come on. Driving afterwards? With weed too? I wasn't the brightest person in high school, but I wasn't dumb enough to ruin my life. Throwing your buddy under the bus is cowardly, your own blood is disgusting.

Ho hum.  Last year, there were several ISU players caught smoking dope IN FRONT OF A DORM.  One kicked off the team then.  I know a lot of college-athletes do it, but the rate at which it's caught/reported/etc..... IDK.  Honestly IMHO, there are probably a lot more D1 athletes who smoke than don't.  What I don't get is the penalty for failing a drug test.  It happens more than any of us commoners hear about.  I guess I don't why it's not a zero tolerance policy?  Hell, I'm in construction management, and if someone is hurt, they take a piss test.  We all get random tested.  Fail?  You're gone.  Thoughts?  Maybe I'm speaking out of turn/line on this.

I know who you're talking about at ISU, I believe. If I remember correctly, one that wasn't booted was one of the best players on the team. I don't remember who did get kicked off though. And that is the problem. I personally don't do it, but I'm not against people doing it at all. The thing is, it's the law and people shouldn't be shocked when they get caught. And I think a lot of favorites get played when it comes to who gets caught/booted, which is totally wrong. Decide on a punishment and dish the punishment to every offender no matter if they average 20 and 10 or 2 and 1.

I don't smoke, but they honestly need to legalize it across the country, sell it in shops and tax the living crap out of it.

Marijuana is 100% safer than drinking. This leads to a whole different discussion, but the stuff needs to be legal and can help us out of our national debt. And it's be much easier to watch the Hoosiers this year with a little pregame toke :)

Haha yeah I have always thought it wasn't that big of deal marijuana is not addictive. Their is a big difference between a habit and an addiction. They should just legalize it and bring our nation out of debt.

True.  I'll be honest.  I'm 38, and when I was a lot younger, and pouring concrete in and around the Indianapolis area, I smoked.  A lot.  We were non-union, and therefore weren't drug tested.  I was young and dumb, and wanted to fit in with some of the guys.  I moved from Mooresville to Terre Haute, and other than a few random times, haven't in over 15 years.  Don't miss it really.

Anyone who thinks that legalizing marijuana would "bring our nation out of debt" has probably been smoking some marijuana.

Not bringing us out of debt, but it would move us in the right direction. It's free money the government would get which they currently aren't seeing.

It would not be "a drop in a bucket".

It would be a teeny tiny drop in an ocean.

That wasn't a serious statement but it would be a money generator
